But don't listen to me, I read a lot of crap. I want to ride my Bike places :-( It's nice and shiny and I may go somewhere on it now after reading that. I just want to like get on it and cycle, cycle, cycle to somewhere new.
Eat Fruit, eat meat, eat good Protein which allows the body to build Muscle and Carbs, eat alot.
Then again, it depends how much you weigh already etc, but keeping fit + training + good food in good amounts will work.
I dunno, I'm still going through it myself now. I'm 17, I weigh something like 9st and a bit and I must have a very high Metabolism or something because I just can't gain any mass at all. But since I have started wanting to be bigger etc I have noticed some changes which probably aren't because of my nutrition etc but instead because of my age.
You're 12, you're just like starting puberty or something, don't rush into all this crap, at that age just eat good food and keep fit and feel fit. Everyday things really, things you enjoy, football maybe? As the years go on you'll notice changes, it's all part of puberty. The chest etc starts growing after other stuff in most guys so don't get annoyed after you think you've hit puberty already, it'll all happen with time.

lol :^)
I'd agree with IB.
Keep fit, don't smoke, when you start drinking do so in moderation. A martial art could be good too.
When you do start training, correct sleep and nutrition are each as important as the physical effort you put in.
Go for *at least* 7 hours sleep a night (to give your body opportunity to build muscle mass) and eat pleanty of protien (chicken and tuna are good, as is a supplement) (to make sure your body has what it needs to build the muscle from). Though don't over-do it.
But training can wait for now.
I've frequently injured myself through sports, so my training has been off and on, but when I've followed the above advice results have been *much* better.
I'm 5'11.
I started from scratch. I was about 15 and unfit as hell. It was pretty hard to get good. In fact, I'm 19 now and I'm STILL not any good at lifting weights. I'm too inconsistant. You need to get a workout and stick to it, not do it when it suits you. If I'd been training hard all these years, I'd be in much better shape than I am now. Just worked out a few minutes ago. Been months since I've done a serious workout, and I had trouble doing almost everything, since I'm out of practice.
Heed our words!
Weight training can stunt your growth, so steer clear of it until you hit 16.
Don't smoke, try not to drink in excess, and look after yourself.
For someone your age, that's all you can do. Unless you want to, say, start karate lessons or (prefered) kung-fu or something. Boxing, again, is something you want to avoid until you're older, but martial arts is more about keeping fit than building mass, and is good for you.
