I just got back from one. It was a pathetic reason for a detention in the first place. Anyone want to take a guess at what it was for?

I was given a detention for sneezing in a test.

Oh, and called the "devil-child" because I was "despondant in class".

A few years ago I was at school with a broken wrist, and this guy in class grabbed it while I was writing with my other hand, then smashed my arm against the table. I'd only broken it a few days before, so needless to say it hurt quite a lot. I turned around and punched him in the face with my other hand.

They gave him one detention and me two.

I just looked at the teacher funny and told him I wouldn't be going to detention.

I got one detention in the whole of my 7 years at school, it was for not getting over 50% in 5 different RE homework assignments, I had to stay for 60 mins after school...

I'm starting to see a trend here between religion and detentions too...

What did you do?

I got sent out of a classroom for dropping my pencil and saying "Oh God" once. The teacher was a religious freak and well on his way to becoming the Christian version of Hitler. Called me a "nasty piece of work", too. This was in my first week at Secondary school, by the way. I'm 22 now and it's one of the only memories I have of that place.
