Hi,

Has anyone seen their new ADSL2+ line speeds take effect yet?

I say this because my router is still showing the 8Mb sync rates and its almost 10pm.

Thanks,

Neil

Many thanks for that.

I won't re-power the router, I'll just wait (unless you want me to re-power).

Hello,

Apologies for not replying earlier. I'm still waiting for the upgrade feature to be available. As for you being offline I have just got this info:

'We are currently experiencing an outage with the WBC interconnect at Columbo node. This appears to be a fault at the BT end of the interconnect, BT engineers are aware of the fault. However there is no estimate as to when this will be fixed.' So this will be the cause of your connection being offline.

My net died shortly before 7pm tonight (Saturday 18th April). It has been dead for over half an hour so far. The sync icon is showing, but my net icon is flashing amber.

I am having to use backup internet sharing via my mobile.

Is this due to my line being activated, or is there a fault?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Neil

Funny you should say that...

I noted a throughput of 1.6Mb all morning and spoke to your colleague about it as you mention. As soon as I put the phone down I did another speed test and my throughput shot up to about 5.8Mb, although my connect is still 7616 (I'll be dreaming of that number soon).

I see you have to one of our support staff regarding this. Hopefully they were able to give you some good advice.
They noted that you have been disconnecting and reconnecting the router a lot. While this may effect your speed at the moment retraining will occur again once I get you line switched to ADSL2+ so you may see that interleaving is then turned off (and hopefully get an increased sync speed, hopefully 15Mb or higher).

To my knowlege, 'Interleave path' has always been shown on my router stats page.

I have a Belkin N Wireless router F5D8633-4 with the latest firmware.

As I mentioned earlier when you asked about your new sync speed - 7616 often shows that interleaving has been turned on.

Also the 'estimates' you are seeing are from BT data which is often way out...

The test socket made no difference.

I'm guessing its the new circuit.

But by the same token, I would have thought the systems re-training period would have corrected it by now.

I'm not sure why your sync rate has dropped. Other that the line being moved to the new BT equipment at the exchange, which might be a little fussy with the particular chipset in your router, nothing has been done our end that could effect sync rate. Have you tried connecting directly to the BT test socket?
