I think it's wrong to change such a huge piece of our history. Views?
Think about it - becoming a state of the USA would probably cause less problems than the whole Euro thing (although we'd have to ge out of the EU, which probably wouldn't be so easy). The UK's got more in common with the US than Europe anywho.
And I wanna pay for stuff with bucks.
"That's 10 bucks, please."
Mmmm.

Why don't you go live under a despotic government in a third world nation?
Quit complaining damn you.
This kind of attitude represents everything that is wrong with this nation. Apathy, indifferance and defeatism. High taxes? How the hell do you think the government is supposed to pay for running the country. Our justice system is in need of reform but at least you don't get beaten up by mobs for not supporting a dictator. I mean Christ! What a poor attitude, if these ideas represent the next ruling generations ideals as a whole then we don't even need a Union Flag since the nation may as well be dead.
Sorry but writing this bulls crap from behind your PC does not impress.
Why don't you run for government and stop complaining about our country.
There are of course problems but if you compare the general living standard in this nation compared to 100 years ago or many other nations today maybe you wouldn't complain so much.

Underfunded military?
Also, most interesting fact of the day goes to Blokey. I never knew that.

rubbish. Anyway...
'We sneak in at night, and fly a hellecopter over their flagpole. then, one of us decends by rope ladder, snatches the flag, and homeward to sweet, sweet japan-flagery!'

Gotta call you on that one. the "Union Jack" is only the name when it's on boats, it's actually just the Union Flag.
Hate it when people do that.

I don't care what it stands for. I'd be interested how you got 'freedom from oppression', 'justice' and 'equality' from some red lines on a blue background.
My point is, the new flag is much the same, but with a bit of different colour. Who cares?
Perhaps you should ask the people wanting to change the flag.
What do you think it stands for?
