1) the morpheus guy says "what is real" then he says that the robots using people as batterys is real so how does he know its real ?
2) they say that you can die because your mind makes it real wtf they on if you was in a virtual reality machine even one that advanced theres no way ur mind could make the injurys in the game real.
3) they use a phone whilst there in the matrix to phone that bloke in the real world how can they phone the real world on a phone that does'nt exist ?
4)Why would Machines that advanced bother for ever using people as batterys why not just get the power from the sun again other wise there existance would only to reproduce people to keep themselves working which isn't really worth it.
5)Why Bother going in a computer game to fight people you cannot beat why not stay in the real world to destroy the robots and restart the human race?.

I thought he said 'scorched the sky' - like made it permenantly cloudy or whatever.

That's exactly what I'm like when watching something I wanted to see I don't care about any inconsistences.

I was under the impression that they Nuked the sun.
The way Morpheus said "I know it was us who scorched the sun, the robots were solar powered so we destroyed the sun to stop them"

What's your office like, Mr. Snuggly? Do you feel imprisoned? Listen to some Rage Against The Machine, they'll break you out:)
the grid-like

That was good eh? From his office with the cubicles, to the interrogation room with lines everywhere. All straight lines and grid-effects. A computer simulation of a room.
Which is why I dont get the complaints about the game graphics "Oh they look bland and samey, all lines everywhere"
Yeah...that's the point.
Police Officer, "I think we can handle one women. I've sent two units up to get her."
Agent Smith, "Officer, your men are already dead."
Classic line!

If Keanu was a decent actor, my favourite line would have been "My name's Neo" (in response to the agent calling him Mr. Anderson). But he isn't, and it isn't...
"Mr Anderson, you believe you are special. You believe the rules do not apply to you."
Didn't catch it the first few times I watched it. Also, the grid-like structure of the real world, very uniform and computer-like, boxed in. Clever, yet not screamingly obvious.

Therefore - if Trinity, Apoc (sp?), Switch or anyone else in the simulation had jumped in that program, they would have survived as well.
It was a simulation, not the 'real' matrix.
