Just heard, Deftones will be entering the Top 40 chart tonight with Minerva placing at Number 15.

The CD single was only on sale for a week, so it won't be selling pretty soon. Maybe they'll extend it now?

The band are in the UK soon for the Download festival and some UK dates, prehaps they could make some TV apperances? I don't think I've ever seen that.

Well I finally listened to the tracks suggested by MWA and I can say that they were not half bad, infact I'll go with pretty good. My favorites from the list being;

Be quiet and drive
Engine No.9
Feiticeira
Lifter
My own Summer
root
Ihabia

All in no order. Quite liked the rest too. Still a big fan of Minerva though. Might look in to some of there albums if I get chance. Thanks MWA.

It's definitely a grower. Although, I think Hexagram is possibly one of the best songs the Deftones have written.

Must admit, it's better than I thought it was going to be.

I've heard all of the new album, never been so disappointed in my whole life really.

Stuck Adrenaline on afterwards then Around The Fur, man they rule compared to this trash. I didn't think Deftones were able to make a crappy album.

Chino drags out all of his words, sounds like a sleepy drunkard, then he screams and it's annoying more then anything. Abes drumming just isn't as good as before. Stef's riffs are very nu-metal like and Chi is the only one I think who has improved. His vocals have improved and he has some nice Bass touches.

Every song drags on and on and you hope something random is going to happen like previous albums but it doesn't, the song just ends.

Best track? - Needles & Pins

Worse track? - Can't choose between them.

Even if it does grow on me, it will never get past Adrenaline or Around The Fur. Yet alone, White Pony.

:-(

To top it all off the album is self titled. Doh!

How cool is this -

The Deftones are offering local bands the opportunity to open on each of their upcoming UK tour dates in June. All you need to do is send a package (ideally three tracks with a picture and some info about your band) to the respective promoters who will make a decision following the closing date of May 27th. If you'd like to open at London Brixton Academy (June 2nd) or Manchester Apollo (June 4th) please send your material to:

Deftones Competition
Clearchannel 1st Floor Regent Arcade House
252-260 Regent Street
London W1B 3BX

Or if you'd like to open at Glasgow Braehead Arena (June 3rd), the vital address is:

Deftones Competition
CPL 21 Sandyford Place
Glasgow G3 7NG

change (in the house of flies)

made me buy the whole white pony album just for that song.
excellent album start to finish

chino's a very versatile singer, through the album he makes the songs sound go from slipknot to manson to u2 and various others. which is a fair range

I still think Digital Bath blows.
