I seriously hate my family so so much. Granted they give me a roof over my head and feed me but I am a scapegoat for anything that goes wrong, despite the fact I say and do as little as possible towards them to avoid any kind of conflict. I will go days on end without talking to them and try and go unnoticed but they will find some reason to yell at me or to blame me for something I havent done. My dad has tried to throw me out of the house on several occasions and my mum has done nothing but back him up. I do nothing to them at all, I only see them when I have to (ie. meal times and when I am going out/getting in) I don't do anything bad or nasty and dont even speak to them unless I have to. I don't know what I have done to make them hate me but I cannot think of anything. I have been told I was an accident and that they wished they hadn't had me, despite the fact my younger sister is a little angel who is a symbol of uttermost perfection. I am in a predicament, I don't know if I should run away or something but I don't think I can take the crap they keep throwing at me.

Any advice, please?

"I think you should go away and do your homework (pun intended). Those who don't have degrees or are not working on getting one find it easy to dismiss them as rubbish."

I dismissed them as rubbish before I ever decided I wasn't going to university. I've always known that a degree isn't the be all and end all when it comes to life. It's a well known fact that there are thousands of kids out there with absolutely WORTHLESS degrees. You have to pick the right one, with the right career in mind. Millions of people out there are wasting their time on their current course.

"Anyone ever saying education is a waste of time is obviously too stupid to appreciate it. Would you want some thicko with a gcse in sports to come round and wire your house? or perhaps a cretin with no grades whatsoever could help direct air traffic leaving airports?"

I have an education. Just not a further education, one which would put me thousands of pounds into debt and see me paying that off for the next few decades. Chances are if I were to go to university, it would be on a media course. After I'm done, I'd be going into exactly the same job as I'm planning on doing now - government work to pay the bills. After going to uni, I'd simply have more bills to pay. Not a good idea.

"think before you post"

I did. You obviously didn't.

And I hate pokemon but what you gonna do? Just accept your situation Kyz, until you are legally old enough to own a house etc you have no wher else to go and apart from naturally aging to become a legal adult you could get a child emancipation but that's rare. Anyway just accept your situation and kick up hell whenever you can. Life's a b!tch and then you marry one.

This is turning into a fight over education. Aren't we trying to convince Kyz that he's in fact an ungrateful little swine?

1. Its the only way to progress in my chosen career, and doing anything else would not only be a waste of my degree, I would have to go back to a level of school lever pay. I was saying if I had been working for the 3 years I studied I would be earning more money now. In order to get a pay increase I need a PhD.

2. Its not just about the pay, its about my contribution to society.

I was simply stating the fact that had I left school and taken a job (for example as a trainee accountant). I would now be in a much better financial situation than I am now. Of course I wouldn't feel so satisfied with my job. I like to think that I am making a contribution to the world. But even if that is true, I would still have been better off not doing a degree and with the benifit of hindsight I can say that if I had my time again, I would not do a degree. Its certainly not all its cracked up to be, unless you pick the correct course.
