How is having millions of fans not really being good? 0_o
Justin Bieber has millions of fans worldwide yet the general opinion is that he is rubbish. Even people who usually like his kind of music think he is rubbish. But he has millions of fans, so surely he must actually be very talented?.............. and not rubbish? :S
Surely nothing is really "good" as that is entirely, entirely subjective.
If you say it's bad, and millions say it's good... I dunno. Like looking at game reviews I guess, if it gets a 99/100 review out of 2,000 reviews...
Although I hate Bieber. With a passion. Hatred thrown in. As does my wife...
I simply don't get the appeal of Coldplay - the monotony! Yet when they recently played an 'intimate' gig at UEA, there were actually people standing outside the venue, staring through a window and watching the gig - albeit with seriously muffled sound. In the rain.
That's serious, albeit completely confusing dedication.
Yeah, heard about that ''fancy standing there trying to listen to that monotone drivel'' said one bloke standing right in front of the stage.
As for the slipper thing, reckon you're all way off base with that one guys. No way could Mr.Martin pull off these insane moves in comfy lounge footwear. He's a sneaker wearer if ever there was one.
But as pb mentioned Coldplay do have millions of fans, so does Justin Bieber. Something being popular does not necessarily mean that it is any good, just that someone will have probably made an awful lot of money from it.
Anyway, nice to see it a bit busier round here today.
Why does music have to be 'cool'? To some people Dubstep is 'cool', but to me it sounds like it should be some sort of alarm on a military base rather than something classed as music.
Anyway, there seem to be a few million people who like Coldplay, which is probably enough to keep Chris Martin in slippers (and there's nothing wrong with slippers either).
A lot of my tastes are seriously uncool - and sometimes result in me getting crushed at sweatboxes in Camden.

As for their lead singer who seems to spontaneously morph into your embarrassing uncle who's had one too many at a family wedding, cool?.
Sound like you are making a Peter Kay reference. His slippers cream coloured by any chance?

Good point pb, slippers are a must-have fashion statement ... I love mine, such versatile footwear :¬)
