McDonalds? Of course they're not nutritious. Nor is that steak in another resturant. Does it taste nice? Many people think so. Whether that flavour is artificial or not, people like it.
Using another analogy, it's a bit like MS or Sony fanboys bashing the Wii because 'there are no good games'.
It's different. I'm not saying it is not enjoyable, that depends on the person. McDonald's can be described as bad food because it does not do what food does by definition. If you tried to live on McDonald's for ten years, you'd have most likely have serious health issues
It's like saying a chair that breaks when you sit on it is a good chair

You guys have terrible taste in music. Go check out George Formby and see what you've been missing out on.
Machie, you weren't even a 'glimmer' when George was about! I loved his music and especially enjoyed the Sunday afternoon films ... happy days.
I was a big admirer of his in a previous life. Monty Python too. I was a fan and watched everything they did. Fawlty Towers too. You missed out on a lot back then DL. I could show you some real comedy.
Speaking of Bieber...
A real endurance challenge for you, survive all 4 minutes and 14 seconds of ]this.
Given mariah is nearly 20 years his senior, I presume all he wants for christmas is a mother.
I tried to listen out for bum notes or bad singing, but there wasn't any.
Ok, so it might not be your taste, but I doubt he'd be where he was without being able to sing.
Anyone who uses the 'oh, but they're such a {insert bad characteristic gleened from public news here}' is an idiot for mixing the word Music with Person. You can't see a singer on the radio or here them speak (unless they're rapping) so it doesn't make a jot of difference. Reminds me of all those people who turned away from one singer/actor or another because they came out as being gay.

I'm not missing out on anything, I like George Formby.
Popularity is a flawed system when it's based on the opinion of biased, illogical and uneducated schoolgirls. It's why we don't allow kids to vote, because they're largely morons.
And thanks to Nin...we finally have a reply that is closest to the truth ... his 'music' comes a very, very poor second to his appeal to young females, who don't usually give a 't***' about the music when 'looks and fantasy' are hormonal enough :¬)
Popularirty is exactly the right scale for measuring if things are "good" in this case. How can it not be?
