Tonight - 22:45 - Film 4 - and at the cinema at the same time - A Field in England.

Movie history, as it's the first film to be released on DVD, streamed, on live free-to-air TV and on at the cinema at the same time.

Story set in Essex during the Civil War, but it's the usual Ben Wheatley madness that makes little sense at times but is still somehow strangely appealing.

Filmed in 12 days, apparently.

Morning.

Another sunny one. Looks like next week may be, in the words of a tabloid rag, a scorcher.

Thanks pb for that ... it's just the condescending way in which you are treated by the 'powers that be'. Normal folk, on the street folk, we live everyday in the real world folk ... know and understand what you mean and offer their help.

There seems to be a growing number of communities that just swap skills and help instead of using money. It may seem old fashioned, but it works. In our town they class these in terms of cockles, which you use to grade a skill in place of payment.

Also, these 'contributions' that the government have you making have long since been made redundant (no pun intended). It always seemed more of an ideal than a reality. But don't let that get you down, it affects everyone.

Really hope things work out for you and the mrs DL. Not great having to cut back and worry about the money coming in, even with a job I'm having to be very careful at the moment, so I can appreciate that it's even harder for you.
