Just wanted to see how far you'd go ... British, Scottish or whatever me and Mrs DL can't stand him ;¬)
His achievement is a big deal for some, British tennis fans have waited a very long time for this. Even those who may not love him as a person seem to be happy. The thing is us non-tennis fans are going to get totally fed up as the tabloids will blow a never ending supply of smoke up his ass, BBC Sports Personality Of The Year is a forgone conclusion and now big Dave wants the guy knighted.
We have a very real possibility of a British champion in one of the MotoGP classes this year, if so he will be the first Brit to do so since Barry Sheene three & a half decades ago. If he does win that championship his achievement will be more than equal to Murray's Wimbledon win in the eyes of fans of that sport. I wonder how much media coverage that news will get...?
Then there's Laura Robson, born in Australia to Australian parents, she moved to Singapore when she was 18 months old and then to the UK when she was 6.
Can see why some may perceive the likes of the above are not 'real' Brits.
Lovely day here but I've managed to catch the sun over the weekend so going to stay out of it today, probably move around the garden as the shade moves over the course of the day while working.
Didn't see the tennis, but saw the news afterwards. Murray looked on the happy side.
Why the issue over nationality? He's Scottish and British so a double celebration for everyone in Scotland, then.
Besides, if Scotland ever got independence they'd have enough trouble actually funding any sports people anyway, let alone champions.
Anyway, sunny day again and looks like it'll be nice all week. I happen to be stuck in an office all week, though I'm in school tomorrow with my governor hat on, so it might afford me some sunshine. I just have to ensure I get to a class that's doing PE when I go in! Also the school Sports Day on Friday, which might turn out nice.
