This is the thread for general chat.

Tell us how your day was, say hello or just introduce yourself if you're new to the site.

It's a journalist career, so they're over before you know it. Not much call for writers these days. Video is all the rage

Hello all.

Feeling nostalgic so I just thought I'd pop my head around the door.

I was at the Develop Awards last week and sat next to Tim Stamper who set up Rare. I tried to act professional around him but I couldn't. I was a complete fanboy.

I told him how I was so desperate to get his game Conker's Bad Fur Day that I started writing articles on a game forum (this one!) in an effort to win it. Most things I wrote were heavy fanboy articles about Nintendo, and most of it was garbage, but it was my first foray into writing that would spiral into a career.

That was over 15 years ago.

Quick scan through the posts seems to suggest those that are still here are well :-)

Morning,

You're right DL, it's always been a bit of a blog on this thread even when it was the world's longest thread.

Usual Monday for me at work, kids are now at home and probably driving my wife mad (well, when they wake up). They're away next week leaving the 2 of us (and the dog) in peace. No plans as yet, but I doubt we'll get out anywhere other than DIY stores or the garden to do more work.

Don't think I'm getting a proper summer holiday again this year.

Been a dry day up here but since rain was predicted we went to the cinema to see Inside Out. Very good film ad a very clever concept which was very well done.

Evening all ...

Hope everyone is ok? Glorious day of constant 'wetting' drizzle :¬(

Finished yet another room ... didn't know we had so many :¬D

Mrs DL is visiting her mother ... it's once a week now, but a130 mile round trip is getting too expensive to afford! That's without the 'fair wear & tear' on the car as well ;¬) Think I'll have to have words with the old bat.

Youngest son begins his driving lessons on Tuesday ... finally!(thanks to the DVLA). He wanted to go out today but conditions didn't help matters, so he decided against it. Probably for the best.

It's becoming like a 'blog' on General Chat these days, but I guess that's what 'General Chat' implies ... and I suppose it hasn't really changed over the last 11 years on the forum.

Morning.

It's Thursday so that means it's the work breakfast in a little bit.

I have free stuff from Greggs to use up as well, a free cake or doughnut and a free drink. They seem to give me something every month or so on the app and I don't think I've actually spent any money in there for ages now.
