I was lucky that my company paid for everything (and expenses) when I went to the US and to India but things are a little different now and even getting a trip to our London office is like pulling teeth.

Indeed but my company can pay for that. I'm pushing to get some reimbursement for the passport too as I'll need to get the premium service which also involves a trip to Glasgow and all for something I only need for work purposes.
