The main obstacle to that is the lack of a lottery win rather than the lack of a passport :)

It does come a bit steep dav but you'll also need one of these ESTA ... another £27.50.
Indeed but my company can pay for that. I'm pushing to get some reimbursement for the passport too as I'll need to get the premium service which also involves a trip to Glasgow and all for something I only need for work purposes.

so it seems I'm going to the USA to visit the office I've done a lot of work for in the last year. A lack of passport is the 1st hurdle to overcome but so is the £££. That was not something I was planning to buy and a rather unwelcome cost.
