Siling down today but tomorrow looks set to be colder, yet dry and bright ... just what I hope, as I'm Volvo Globetrotting again ;¬)

I get a bit upset at the idea that you're not supposed to enjoy something if some vocal group like to point out about it. I know it's a social and natural thing to say 'oh yes the thing we all don't like, sure, please accept me if I agree' but it does kinda leave out the people who do enjoy it and is probably maybe why they feel so isolated in groups

Wait what. I don't know, leaps in logic but whatever. I feel people should be ok to like all the different things they want to like, unashamedly. It's nice to belong but it'd be nice to belong all together rather than thinking you had to find particular groups to identify with? I don't know. I guess do what makes you happy

Do you write much fiction these days Lead? I've been trying a little recently, but I've been trying to work on stories from a top-level sort of way, as in try and design the outline first, then dive into the details after. It's not something I'm used to doing but I'm finding that it leaves more room to be creative.

And thank you DL for confirming and reassuring. I'm spewing words tonight, perhaps I do need to grab a bit of grammar to halt them from spreading all over the place.

I would love the time to write more but, alas, life gets in the way of that. I will get back to writing again at some point in the future, though.

I completely agree with the peer pressure thing and I don't subscribe to it. I still see far too many fanboys in gaming as it is but every aspect of life seems to have its 'you need to fit into this square box' brigade.

Do what ever Grix ... it was correctly used by the way, but it's what you say, not how grammatically/structurally correct it may be :¬)

I left the Tiffany Aching books until last and I'm only just reading them now, in a way, that's good because they're excellent and I still have more Pratchett to look forward to. I'll be sad again when I get through the last book, though.

My eldest is reading The Hunger Games, on the final book. I read them first to check them out and was quite surprised by how good they were, considering that teen fiction has a bad reputation among certain crowds. I'm also pleased that she doesn't want to see the films until she's read each book. In addition, she's started really getting into writing pretty good short stories.

I've got all those to go which is great; I'm reading them in published order. I'm aware of the different threads and groups you can read them in, but it seems if I'm going to read them all, then having a break between groups will be fun too.

I've just finished Wyrd Sisters, so the next is Pyramids (which incidentally I believe is a 'one-off' novel)

Hello!

Look I'm trying to be a bit more social sssh

I'd recommend more books but that's practically all I've got. I'm reading Red Dragon at the moment, I loved the Hannibal tv series so wanted to check out the books. Is good, enjoying. Other than that working my way through the Discworld novels. I've a lot of catching up to do when it comes to books!

(I used an exclamation mark so as not to cause embarrassment. Diversity in punctuation should be entirely acceptable)

Hi all.

Grix, you're still alive? Waltzing in here with your book recommendations. What do you think we are? a bunch of intellectuals! How many exclamation marks can I still fit into this paragraph?! Do you care? No? Okay, then!

Yes ... but it's nice to see an old Freeolaite again :¬)
