Morning everyone.

Heavy rain followed by heavy snow this morning, meaning that we have a light peppering of snow on the floor so far, but with more snow coming I'm expecting it to get worse, quickly.

That being said, I'm glad I made the decision to finish my assessed work 2 days early to avoid the inevitable transport chaos that snowfall brings. Also means I have a couple of days to continue on reviews and hopefully get another walkthrough finished, as well as get through a backlog of games before the Christmas backlog starts. (Current backlog not helped with the imminent arrival of Yakuza 3, but I wasn't turning it down at £6.80)

Morning all. Not the greatest of starts to the day. First of all, the bus was late. Late enough that the driver thought he'd better not stop and pick me up. He just sailed on past me like I wasn't there!

So, got a lift to the train station, to be informed that there was a problem with the overhead power in Berwick, and that the train was delayed ... well, for all I know it is still delayed. The snow started falling, and I made the decision to head off home instead, because last time it snowed I was stuck in the village. I don't fancy much being stuck OUT of the village... Good thing, too, because even on that short journey, the taxi nearly slid off the road twice.

The snow has stopped, for now, but any more will undoubtedly shut the village off from the rest of civilisation once again. I am now glad that we went and did a panic buy shop last night, just in case.

Still, it's a bonus games day, I guess. ;)

I could copy my tweet from earlier that pretty much sums this up! :)

Coffee is working at the moment though, but got an hour long call in just over half an hour which I'm not looking forward to!

Morning,

got my christmas lunch to suffer today. It's a one drink bore-fest if the last 2 years are anything to go by. Better than being in the office I suppose... just.

@pb. If I had the necessary equipment then I'd be willing to contribute but sadly I don't.

Morning folks.

Was up till 1.30am updating my website, then up at 6.30 for work.

I have a good, but very small, team of writers who are helping me. Unfortunately, their time is just as precious as mine and they don't all have as much of a vested interest in the site (or, perhaps, madness to want to be updating it early hours of the morning).

So, as I love all you guys at Freeola and I know some of you have iPhones/iPod Touchs, if you'd like to write for the site I'm opening up the offer. There's no payment at the moment, my site isn't yet making any money, but you do get free games. All I ask is that you have time/access to the internet during the day, have a 3rd or 4th gen iPhone/Touch and can write a decent review or news item.

Any takers?

Many thanks to both of you, WH and HW. Sorry to hear about your father as well HW...must be the season for it.

@WH

Totally agree with both sides of your comment but it seems, as a result of our 1 to 1 meeting today, the decision to close was agreed and taken at 4.30pm last Friday and as such a '30 day consultation period' legally began....meaning I'm redundant on 21st January. If they had left it any later then the actual closure would be equally later....if you see what I mean! The implication is that they wanted it shut 'like yesterday'. At the moment, most of us wished that we could go now and not have to wait for redundancy on 21st Jan. But we are all still shell-shocked at the news.

Sorry to hear the news DL (and for your father HW). Hope things work out.

I agree with Chris, 2 weeks could not have made a difference, however thinking of it on the flipside ...

If the staff didn't know, would they be cautious of spending/etc over the next busy period (Xmas espeically)? Maybe the company think they are being reponsible :s

Decided to work from home today as I needed the extra sleep this morning. Still feel like I need more mind you.
