Chris - you live near me? You must do because we have exactly the same problem with the collection bags. Worse thing about them is.
1. You have nothing to donate
2. You leave the unfilled bag out so that they can't reuse it
3. One week after the collection date you pick it up off the drive and throw it in the bin.
I now throw all of them into the bin automatically :S
Actually I'm here to rant. Just got a call from a charity as "you regularly donate by direct debit every month to us" which kinda caused my eyebrows to raise 'cos it was only set up in January of this year. The reason for the call he said was to say thank you for my continuing donations and to let me know what good my money was doing. The actual reason was to try to squeeze some more money out of me. Just another 4 pound per month. I regretfully refused as I'm in limbo atm regarding my own financial affairs. He dutifully apologised for troubling me for that amount then ask if I could increase it by 2 pound a month. When I still said no he asked for 25p per week. By this time I was refusing simply on principle.
I'm so angry, past angry, unreasonably angry. The amount I donate it negliable, really it is, but I've been made to feel dirty and uncharitable for not increasing my donation by 4 quid a month. If I don't post this, and get it out of my system, I'm more likely to log into the bank account and stop it all together!
Winners list hasn't been updated for last week either, which is probably related.
Going to spend today watching motorsport and hopefully finish the current game I'm playing. Hope everyone has a good day!
@pete...haven't been fishing for at least 45 years mate, but I'm just the sort of 'loon' that enjoys challenges such as those in that type of programme - I suppose 'Indiana Jones fantasy' ha ha .... having said that, I probably wouldn't swim in most South American rivers!
@dave...that type of incident really annoys me, especially as most dog owners do seem to carry their little bags and clean up afterwards! We get the same 'pondlife' around here though and I find that after clearing up the mess, a good watering can full of Jeyes cleaning fluid (diluted of course) ...used to be called Izal...works wonders. Stinks a bit, but certainly persuades them to go elsewhere ... it also works wonders on moss ha ha.
