If you mean a 'climbing' club, yes, but some years after starting. Joined mainly for the extra opportunities it gave for climbing ie more often and with people of a similar standard. Infact, ended up teaching at the Club - happy days and evenings :¬)

Totally agree ... everyone knows the risks and to a certain extent, that is why they are there.
I rode for 11 years, had two major accidents (caused by 'careless car drivers') but numerous 'errors' caused by the sheer exhilaration of motorcycle riding ... how many fields have I investigated in depth, how many corners have I mis-judged or 'country-crossroads' missed....doesn't bear thinking about, but then I took up climbing! .... Totally agree pete :¬)
2 guys have been killed in sidecar practice at the TT,not a good start to the event.Read somewhere that 60 odd people are supposed to be traveling to the IOM tomorrow to demand that the racing is stopped.Don't know how true it is but can see them all ending up in Douglas harbour if they upset the wrong people. It's very sad news but the TT is and has always been a very dangerous event, everybody knows that but these guys do it out of choice.Don't really see why someone should have the right to say what these people can and can't do,they are all fully aware of the risks that they are taking.
Seems like everyone has been too busy to come on here in the last few days, including the staff.
We all need a break!

Yeah I agree Butch,I'm totally underwhelmed by the 3D thing myself.Saw Avatar in the cinema and even that didn't do anything for me TBH.Regarding TT3D,I just thought the 3D footage of the on board action would be something that the format might have worked with, but it really didn't.The film (great as it is) would have been just as good in 2D IMO.The very fact I mentioned it as the one (and only) negative point of the film says everything really doesn't it? Apparently sales of 3D Blu Ray's have been extremely poor so far,if that continues the format will surely go the same way as HD DVD.
3D Bluray is being sold with 2D in more and more instances now, but then there still aren't a lot of 3D TVs with 3D capable Bluray players, so it's early days yet. People thought Bluray was dying on its feet in the early days, but it's really doing well now. It just takes time with a new format where there isn't such a big leap in the physical media changing.
That said, many film-makers seem to have shoehorned 3D in instead of using it as a tool for telling the story or enhancing the visuals.
First 50" non-glasses 3D TVs are in production though, which may make a big difference to those hung up on the glasses aspect.
