But wouldn't you rather have a player who scores just as much good goals as someone who scores poached ones?

Van Nistelrooy has scored a few more than Henry - but Henry doesn't poach!

I know loads of Arsénal fans who all seem to call Ruud van Nistelrooy and "goal-hanger"!

And do you know why? Just because he "can't score from long-range, like HENRY!" And, apparently, "he's so , the only goals he scores are goal-line tap-ins!"

Well, it's true that he is always in the right-place, and the right-time - like all good strikers should be...
And the reason he doesn't score from long-range is becuase he's a "STRIKER", and doesn't have the versitallity of a player like Thierry Henry - a player who's used to playing on the wing, and is often running all over Highbury, creating and taking his chancesm, behind the frontman.

Some people are just stupid (and cocky)!

I think were doing RVN a groos dis-service here... its not like he stands on the 6 yard box waiting for the ball to come to him, his movement off the ball to shake off defenders in what many call the best leauge in the world is second to none...

Im not a fan of RVN but neither do i dislike him... but if were honest for a minute he has got shed loads of ability and we would probably all like him in our team, alot of what a great goal scorer does is subtle and unseen without careful scrutiny, this is part of what makes them a great goal scorer and lets face it RVN is just that.

I'm not saying Nistelrooy isn't good at what he does, I'm just saying that I can't see why some people rate him so highly.
Nistelrooy did say that his ideal strike partner would be Henry, because they are so different in the way they play.

Sorry for any confusion, im a Birmingham City fan... i got nothing against Man Utd or Arsenal as a whole but i will be honest and say that some of the Arsenal team are too arrogant by far.

As Beckham said in a recent interview (not an exact quote, but near enough):

"Yes, Arsenal are arrogant. But so are we. You need an arrogant streak to be successful."

I have to disagree with that.

There are many many examples but heres just one, Pele... the greatest footballer that ever lived in many peoples eyes, he is a very humble man with no streak of arrogance.

Only arrogant people say you need to be arrogant, they are trying to justify their self arrogance.

Back to goal poaching, AC Milan have the worst offender of the lot. Filippo Inzaghi. I HATE him. Shevchenko is so much better, and scores interesting goals rather than poaching Inzaghi's. Did anyone se his against Juventus? He scuffed a shot, and rolled it under Buffon's legs, before punching Montero in the face. Bah. Ok back to the point, I prefer Henry, but Van Nistelrooij is good at what he does, and as a bonus, he can header. So he is probably a better all-round striker, but I still like Henry, as he is better to watch.

I agree that from a viewing perspective Henry is better to watch than RVN... imagine a travelling circus with Henry as the star attraction, chadwick as 'the unfortunate one' and Lee Hughes as 'the guy that cant hit a cows butt with a banjo' then ofcourse theres jeffers as the clown that keeps falling over.
