"Dixons drop Gamecube!!!!!!!!!!"

I thought it was a little odd that the price of the Gamecube had slashed to a stupid £99 with free game. It's now been announced that Dixons will no longer stock the Gamecube!! It also looks like Game and PC world (Colchester shops) aren't that interested in Gamecube either if you live in this neck of the woods!!! Please comment on this and if shops around your area are not stocking Gamecube/Games anymore!!!

I only actually know of one Dixons, and that's in Brentwood highstreet. It sells mainly just TV's, PC's and stereos, and on the counter it has one of those rotating stands with a selection of about 8 games from each console.

And there is one console box for GC,PS2, and Xbox in the glass cabinet under the counter.


And the games are about £45 each.

To be fair, I rate Dixons one below Game in my list of "Retailers Who Are Crap And I Only Would Buy From At Gunpoint"

More fool Dixons, they've got to be stupid doing this...

my Gamecube could be black or black, no purple ones left.
When I got to the store they tried to tell me the offer was for one day only (last Saturday) - even though I phoned this morning to check they still had some in stock.
So I created a fuss got the manager in a head lock, gave him a Chinese burn and he sold it to me for £99.

Nothing is ever straight forward is it ?

oh that was at Dixons on the 4th of May 2002.

£275 for Gamecube, 2 controllers, 1 mem card, and 4 games of own choice.

i actually bought my GC from Dixons, it was the only place which had the best deal on the console. £210 for the console, 2 joypads, 2 games and memory card, great deal, shame the same couldn't be said about the price of the games that where sold seperately.

I think this Friday I shall be popping into Dixons XL (the largest Dixons in UK) to see what the situation is - they have quite a large games section - which rarely gets filled with customers.

Ofcourse, if they ahve any bargains (on Super Monkey Ball 2 for example) I may decide to purchase something, if they only have crap, or nowt at all, then I shall go up to the till and say, "You've lost me as a customer" and I shall only return for electrical goods if and when I need them.

I say dixons, I mean currys, and it was pretty recent - just before the stopped selling psone stuff.
