"Dixons drop Gamecube!!!!!!!!!!"

I thought it was a little odd that the price of the Gamecube had slashed to a stupid £99 with free game. It's now been announced that Dixons will no longer stock the Gamecube!! It also looks like Game and PC world (Colchester shops) aren't that interested in Gamecube either if you live in this neck of the woods!!! Please comment on this and if shops around your area are not stocking Gamecube/Games anymore!!!

And that's a very big generalisation. My local Dixons is priced competitively with the stores surrounding it, and is a very pleasant shop.

In fact, they’re such a nice shop that they agreed to sell me a surround sound system that their sister shop, Currys, had on offer (note: dixons did not have it on offer). Currys had sold out. Dixons allowed me to buy it at the currys price, and take it away that day. They didn’t have to do this.

And I know we're talking about games here. Just giving an example.

It started off as an argument about the difference between "Not caring" and "Showing little interest".

Well duh why would a Gamecube owner go into Dixons now?

Other than to buy non-Gamecube stuff of course.

I get kick as$ games at kick as$ cheap prices tommorow.

But regardless of the (unconfirmed) idea that Dixons are taking the Gamecube off it's shelves, they're still selling it at the extremely good price of £99. This will significantly expand the Gamecube userbase.

Actually, the Dixons near me really is crap and overpriced, and it's the only one I've ever seen. I used to slate it when I bought Megadrive games there.

My local dixons are very good for games. Admitidly, prices aren't cheap - but they're no more expensive than the likes of GAME.

Both of my local dixons have a whole aisle running down the shop devoted to video games, with three massive widescreen TVs hanging off the wall, displaying games from each of their respective consoles.

But of course, now Dixons decide not to sell Gamecube, this whole topic turns into a "slate Dixons" topic.

By the way, in the original topic it says £99 with a game. Is this true, or is it actually £99 for the console only?

Well Dixons are pretty stupid neway, not only do they over charge (£45 in my local for ALL GC games) but they also stock up on crap and only orderbout 3 copies of good games! it took my local dixons 3 weeks to figure out that Smash bros was out and they are yet to stock Mario Sunshine!
the fools do the same on all consoles so if they r dropping our favourite lil' box they deserve not to have nething to do with the games industry!!!
