The cooling for the FX no matter what looks stupid..... compared to the cooling on the 9700.

"The nVidia one"

What?

nVidia don't make graphics cards, they make chipsets, so whatever was reviewed will definitely not be what we buy. I'm telling you, the Chaintek GF FX is 30dB.

The FX and 9700 are too expensive... and not worth it unless you want FSAA at high res'
I think a Geforce 4 ti is more worth it atm since it can still play alot of todays games.

Er no it's not. Just buy a Chaintek FX. Not only does it have bl00 LEDs, but it's a mere 30db.

On the 9700 Pro VS GF FX debate I would go for the 9700 not because of any dislike of nVidia, (1I hope to get a GF4 Ti when the prices come down) but because the FX is 70dB!!YES 70!!!

THAT IS LOUD!!

A 4800SE should handle any game in the near future BTW. I hope to get an original 4400 or 4600 soon, if the price is right, my motherboard doesn't support AGP8x so getting on of the new ones is pointless.

I think I will just leave it, as it all sounds a bit risky. But thanks for your help all, especialy AMD_MAN, and I now have my motherboard manual, which I didn't have before, so I have gained a very important thing that will help me upgrade my PC.

Thats the whole point... if he updates his bios and can overclock but after a few settings his pc wouldn't boot up he needs to know how to reset to defaults settings :p

all that does is sets the bios back to defaults it won't give you the options you need for overclocking, it is possible that a bios update won't either but you don't know unless you try.

Or as i said try using softfsb.
