Do people still argue over consoles?
Fail.
I did expect them to grab the FPS genre properly with the Dolphin.... but no. :(

It's a hinderance to smooth movement though. If you wanted to arc a camera using it then you'd be restricted to a striahgt edged octagon and not a circle, which annoys me trying to play FPS games :-).

Unless his is chiselled to a point and he impales his thumb on it when he plays...

No wrong. I had already read the reviews on Gamespot and IGN and knew exactly what the problems were, but no one in here was actually making any sort of explanation as to why those things make the game better on the Cube.
As for the situation with the pad, you couldn't be more wrong. Each pad has it's strenghts and weaknesses. I've never presed the d-pad on the PS2 pad by accident, so I don't know where you get that from.
The GC pad suits some games and not others. It's lack of a proper second analogue stick with that sharp cornered c-stick instead doesn't do it any favours.
I also find it slightly off putting to have my thumbs not symmetrical when playing games using both sticks, so again it's swings and roundabouts and differing preferences of individuals.
I sold my Xbox first though ^^ And I'll buy another one when I get some more cash, and play through all the classiqué games.
Boohoo, my poor Cube :(
