*SPOLIERS*

It was excellent, as expected.

There were alot more changes made to the book than there were in FOTR, Arwen, the Aragorn is-he-dead-isn't he storyline. However, all these minor differences that were scattered throughout the film were justified. I can understand why Arwen needed to be included, as Jackson is keeping the Aragorn-Arwen developed for ROTK - explaining in more depth Arwen's future choices and also to remind some audience members who she actually is.

The other changes all served purposes. After Aragorn had departed, his reappearance at Helm's Deep served to show the honour he is held in by elves and men alike, and also his determination, courage, etc.

The only change I couldn't really figure was Frodo, Sam and Gollum going to Gondor - the Nazgul-Frodo encounter showed further what power the ring has, but it didn't really need to be done. Also Faramir is much more strong willed and wise than Boromir, and I didn't think this came across well.

Action scenes made up a large part of the films, and while this isn't a bad thing, I hope that some parts are developed more in the extended cut (Merry, Pippin and the Uruk Hai, for example).

I can understand Peter Jackson leaving out Shelob for the final film, and it will be all the better because of it. He has done a fantastic job, as condensing this book into film is a very difficult task. I thought the effects were superb and I eagerly anticipate Jackson's next masterpiece.

They obviously used their swords to draw the spears to the side so they could get in behind them.

Don't know how a calvary charge got past the 15 foot spears the Uruk-Hai were carrying though...

Great film, though far too many gay bits, that are becoming prevalent to entertain the simple folk.

It should have been a 15.

Sounds like a great film, I can't wait to see it, in the mean-time though I'm going to watch The Fellowship again and get up to date on everything.

MoJo's a pretentious idiot. ILM did the effects for Star Wars, and Yoda looked far less realistic that Gollum. The Ents looked better than those bull type things in the arena battle in Star Wars.

Conclusion: Weta is far better than ILM. You gimp.

IT. WAS. AWSOME.

:-D

I also liked the comical relief that was Gimli, all those short jokes. What a laugh!

I didn't care if the Ents and Gollum didn't look real they are characters and you have to treat them like one, real or not.

Yup, I'm wrong! Just read that part of the book.

I think your just all too hard to please. Its a film based on the book so isnt going to be able to put every single detail in. If it did it would probably be an 8hour long film. Anyway enjoy both the book and the film. And to those (Mojojojojojojojonojojfdkfksdo) who go on about effects and that. Its not going to look real as it is not real. Its a fantasy plus its a film so get over it - not like someones going to go to a cinema and say "is this really happening or has it in the past, it just looks so real. I didnt even know Orc was a religion, hope they can destroy Osama". Its fake, a film, a story.
