"LOTR: THE TWO TOWERS!!!!!! *Thread contains spoilers*"

at 12.15 today i left school got on the bus and wen straight to the nearest cinema to watch the greatest middle film of a trilogy. WAT A FILM!!!!!! It was much better than the first one and that takes some beating. Although Christopher Lee's not in a lot, great battle scenes and great effects. Totally brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there's no way u can miss this one it's superb!!!!!!! sorry that i haven't given more detail in this post but i didn't want to spoil the film.

In the previous issue of Total Film magaine it had interviews with most main character members including the voice talent of Gollum. He say's how they filmed a scene with him playing Smeagol before the transformation and showing how he turned into Gollum. He say's he doubted it would be in the cinema version (which we know is correct) but is sure it'll be on the extended DVD.

Also i don't know if you noticed but you see him as human (or hobbit, whatever) in Fellowship. During the introduction when it comes to Gollum finding the ring. it shows a hand (human) going into the water and picking up the ring. The next we see is gollum in his gave with his precious.

I'm off to see it a second time tomorrow.

It was his friend, not his brother. They were at the lake on the same day as Smeagols birthday. His friend found the ring, but Smeagol wanted it for a present since it was his birthday. Smeagols friend already gave him a present, and didnt want to give the ring up. So smeagol killed him for the ring. Disgusted his family banished him, so he went to hide in the caverns of the misty mountains, where the sunlight, or moonlight couldnt hurt his eyes.

Smeagol and Gollum are technically the same person, but they are actually the two different psyche's of Smeagol, as he has become schizophrenic. Gollum represents the evil side, brought about by the ring. And Smeagol is the once good persona of him before the ring took a hold of him.

The film misses out a lot of info that the book has.
