Armour should not affect your sneak ability, with the exception of boots. According to the instruction book, they do affect your sneak ability, so take them off when you're sneaking.
Not sure about the gloves. They're not mentioned. Might try and find out though....
Nomad, on the standard version of Morrowind there are only two traders with much cash, and even they have nowhere near the sort of money you'd be looking for.
Here is where they are and how much cash they have:
[RICH TRADER SPOILER]
In the top floor of the Orc mansion in Caldera, is a creeper. He has 4k, and offers the full value for any item. He's the second richest trader in the game.
Near Vivec (you'll have to hunt around) is a talking mudcrab. He is exactly like a normal mudcrab, but you can talk to him. He has 10,000 gold, which is the most you'll find. If you've already killed himby accident, then tough :)
[END SPOILER]
So there's no way you'll get much cash for that armour. The best you can hope for is a part exchange deal... a few thousand plus whatever the trader has for sale, in exchange for a 150k curiass. You may as well keep it really.
If you were on the PC version and you had the Tribunal expansion pack, you could donate it to a museum for 30k though...
I created my own states at the beginning, and my character is a sort of cross between a warrior and a thief.
My major skills are sneak, security, medium armour, acrobatics and long blade.
What race of character did you choose?
I'm a Redguard with the star sign "The Shadow" - once a day I can become invisible.
Not having chance to play it *that* much. It is a great game though!
Thing is, I'm a thief. So should I wear any armour or gloves etc? I kind of figured I wouldn't, 'cos I need to sneak about and be fast and agile.
What do you think?
Whilst searching for "Elvul's Black Blindfold" in the secret underwater caverns of the Imperial Commission in Ebonheart, I was attacked by an outcast guard.
I killed him and stole his torso armour - a magically-charged cuirass worth "190,000 gold".
(Ahnassi in Peligiad told me where the "Black Blindfold" was).
It's heavy armour and I'm medium armour, so I'd like to sell it and make a fortune. But where can I sell it?
I'm level 17. I've been playing it almost non-stop. It's fast becoming my favourite game.
By safe place, I mean no humans around and indoors.
And afterwards, don't go outside unless it's night time or cloudy. Seriously.
Found the Dwemer artifacts, but had to kill the bloke there.
I now owe the guard 1205 gold pieces for my crimes, or have to spend 12 days in prison. Everytime a guard sees me they start to chase me like there's no tomorrow.
I'm trying to save up to get the 600 pieces to pay the bloke in the thieves guild to get the price off my head, but everytime I leave to do a quest a guard spots me... :-)
I'm now level two, and have advanced two ranks in the thieves guild. Have't put *that* many hours into the game, but I'm already loving it.
Firstly, find a vampire. They'll be in ancestral tombs, so check them all out. There's one Northwest of Vivec. I can tell you where they all are if you really want, but that's a bit of a spoiler.
So, find yourself a vampire. Then let him hit you. Any non-magical attack a vampire does on you has a very small chance of giving you the vampire blood disease. You might get it straight away, or it might take ages before you finally contract it. If you have any form of resistance to common disease it's nearly impossible, so the best way to do it is create a spell which weakens your resistance to common disease. There is some disagreement over whether it is blight or common disease, but the main consensus it that it's common.
Eventually you'll get a message telling you that you have contracted the vampire blood disease. Three days later you will turn into a vampire, gaining massive stat boosts and new special abilities.
There are a few drawbacks though...

Yes, how d'you become a vampire?
