The coffin possibly belongs to someone whos name begins with "J-" if you look at the screen cap of the newspaper. Who do you think it belongs to. I've got several ideas myself.
I think you have to assume that they're about to leave the island for a while before returning. I dont get why John just walked off, i was really hoping he'd just shoot Jack, who is as always, an annoying t**t.

There is a lot of talk on forums with people expecting a lot more future flashes next season with much less emphasis on island and past matters. Personally I doubt this. I think they will concentrate on the island a lot more so that Jack will discover its secrets. At some point Jack has to be faced with two paths, the island or home and we now know that he'll go home but regret it. He'll only really regret it if he discovers something huge on the island, which so far, he hasnt. I love this ending to the season. We now know that Jack will eventually end up in the same frame of mind that Locke is currently in, just he wont realise it until its too late.
Darnit, I'm downloading episode 2 now, and I've already read something about future and time... Which was what I was kinda expecting what with all the little easter eggs from this season.

Overall I loved it. The fact that Im so confused is great. I'm coming up with a variety of theories which will all probably turn out wrong but thats all part of the Lost fun.
But overall you enjoyed the episodes Geffdof? Lost back to being a great show again?

I didnt get the whoe flashback/forward thing.
Jacks dad was, allegedly, alive making the flashes in the past. The end though showed Kate and Jack together and the conversation started with Jack saying he cant stand keeping it a secret any more etc.
My initial thought was that Kate and Jack knew each other before they got to the island and they had some horrible past that they were keeping secret.
The conversation then headed towards "crashing planes" and "going back there" which would suggest that its a future flash. Everything they said seemed consistent with them being rescued and Jack wanting to go back to the island.
He never actually said "island" though. I've still got this small suspicion that it may be a regular flashback and once we re-listen to the conversation with knowledge that we will get next season it will become clear that they were talking about something else completely. I doubt that will be the case, but you never know.
The two things that contradict both theories are:-
Jacks dad
Jacks phone
His dad is dead, so how can he "bring his dad down" or get a prescription from him. Even if the script is forged, a dead Dr wouldnt have a prescription pad. This places it as a regular flashback.
His phone was a new motorola. It was too modern to fit in in a flashback. Props are usually carefully selected to establish a time line, so is possible an error was made or that this puts the time line post-2006.

Okay I saw the second episode so SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!
Okay first off I knew the three wouldnt be killed, but I didnt know why they wouldnt do as Ben told them to do. I expected Hurley to come back but I didnt think he'd use the van lol. Nice one Hurley.
Blimey the Losties really do a lot of killing, apart from Ethan (and his mate) who went nuts I cant remember when a Lostie got killed by an Other. The Losties are really wiping each other out and get this! Hurley finally killed someone :O Uh oh Hurley, now the Island has something against you.
Poor Charlie died =,( but did he have to? Couldnt he have gone out and then closed the door? Or better yet, go out the window? I think he gave up too quickly. And what's with this Russian guy? Is he some kind of terminator? He has a smegging harpoon in him and where the hell did he get that 'nade?
Lets hope Desmond can get back on the beach and warn the Losties. Now that Ben is captured who's going to lead the Others?
I bet some of you thought Jack was going to get shot, didnt think Locke would turn up and stab her in the back. Ouch!
This Island really doesnt want to be found and is using Locke to stop it from happening. Or maybe this is all Jacobs doing, that's why he needed Lockes help.

It was all pitch black so I couldnt see anyone. All I know is that for some reason Jack keeps flying around on planes in Asia hoping they'll crash and he was talking to some woman called Kate, telling her they have to go back. Is this the future? Is that Kate from the Island? How odd. Infact earlier in the episode I wondered if they would do any flashforwards, but then I remember they did a bit with Desmonds future predictions.
So it's not Pennys boat afterall? We should have known as her people were in a plane not a boat. Do you think they can follow the transmition now that Charlie has contacted her?
I'm real confused I dont know who's the good guys and who's the bad guys, I guess no one is. I wonder what these new Hostiles will be like and why they're so keen to find the Island.

Also does this means some of Jacks of flashbacks were infact flashforwards? Like when he got that tattoo? I remember we couldnt fit that in anywhere, all we knew was that Jack suddenly had a changed attitude and didnt care about something. I dunno :/ I cant remember what the fortune teller woman said to him.
