Its not so easy to push these rumours aside when a member of Microsoft (Robbie Bach ?) mentioned that Rare were only to be the first of a number of developers Microsoft are looking to buy.
Has to be said, if Microsoft are successful in adding both Capcom and Sega as exclusive developers, the competition are in real trouble.
Both companies have very strong titles to their names. Especially Sega with their excellent games.
Then of course Capcom are already providing us with Steel Battalion, Capcom Vs SNK and Marvel Vs Capcom and we all know what other games they are responsible for. :-)
On the other hand... If you haven't played Skies of Arcadia then you are in for a very big treat as it is the best RPG to date (unless Morrowind on Xbox is any better), I have the Dreamcast demo and I have located this very rare title to pick up this week :) Also the Shenmue games are THE BEST I have ever played and they should be re-done so that everyone can experience these amazing titles.
then there is the PHantasy Star online special edition the Gamecube is only getting.
The Exclusive rights to Skies of Arcadia and no less than 4 Sonic games including one game package.
Then there is Beach Spikers and other sports titles.
Phantasy Star card battles.
The Super Monkey Ball series.
The first 2 crazy taxi games and maybe later on the third.
Shenmue may still be multi-format via clever trickery.
Virtual Fighter RPG on the Gamecube ONLY.
Virtual Striker as well.
Sonic Team (Phantasy Star, Sonic and NiGHTS) love to be quite honest just nintendo.
Amusment vision (Virtual Striker and Super Monkey Ball) Obviously big Ninty fans.
And the name escapes me for now but the very large shenmue team (Shenmue, Virtual Fighter) releasing a number of games for cube... they seem to like everyone.

Hmm.. most of those I've heard nothing about, and I'm sure there's an equally good list out on and set for GC too. I doubt SEGA are going anywhere, they've rejected MS once before.

Likewise with Nintendo, plus there's the matter of the Triforce and the two of them working together closely on games like F-Zero GC.

Except for the Triforce one... SEGA are using both.
So you money hungry MS fans can wait a while long cause they aren't for sale yet.
As for Sega, very unlikely, they've tryed once and been told to feck off, it's very unlikely that Sega would go 1st party for any console. Gamecube is actually being treated a lot better than it seems by Sega, oh and Beach Spikers is a Gamecube exclusive. We're getting
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2
Sega Soccer Slam
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Adventure 3
Sonic Mega Pack
Crazy Taxi
Virtua Fighter RPG
Phantasy star Online 1+2
Beach Spikers
Virtua Striker ver 2002
NBA 2k2
F-Zero
and I'm sure there's more, just can't remember them.

Incorrect.
The NEW Sega arcade machines now use the xbox hardware and board.
