It seems that you love Rare so much, as you lot always shouted "We've got Rare developing for us!" whenever someone tried to put down Nintendo. So I guess that you'll all be putting your GC away in the wardrobe, and you'll be buying an Xbox pretty soonish.
Or am I wrong?
btw, dunno about Nintendo mags in general, but NGC has pretty much always had the odd joke about Nintendo and Rare having very slippy release dates. But this generally means the game comes out better. If anything I would hope Rare would keep the long development times so they still produce great quality games.

This simply represents progress. As long as we buy this stuff (and we are more then ever b4), Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft will continue to push their "ideas" into production. And for the most part, that means, multipurpose equipment (dvd movies, cd, etc built in) and on-line games. I agree, they must NOT loose the original idea of "playing games". Add on these things, but don't loose the main aim of the box - games - in doing that. Regardless, would anyone who's first console was a PS2, XBox, or GC wan't to go back to a console that only did games and nothing else - i doubt it.

Ummmm, just like Sony then...
And of course, Nintendo aren't in the business to make money, oh no. They give all profits away to charity. And the everyone works out of the goodness of their heart...

PS2 was the first console to offer anything more than playing games, with the ability to watch DVD's on it. Sony have already said that they want to make an integrated entertainment centre, the same as Microsoft do.
Oh, and of course Nintendo ONLY want you to play games, don't they. Which is why they allowed Panasonic to make a GC capable of playing DVD's, and why there's loads of expansion slots in the bottom of your GC for stuff like HDD and Modems...

It's too late for that. It happened with the arrival of the PSX...
;-)
Tilt and Meka seem to be some of the few "Ninty's" to keep their head screwed on straight.
Yes, Rare are fantastic and they'll be sorely missed but the Gamecube's line up is fine without them.
Then there's the majority who've gone a bit loopy condemmed Rare ever since the rumours went off, started looking for the negatives in them.
So does that leave me as the only one who's TRULLY lost it and taken the OTHER extreme? :-D
Yess.. :op

Of course not that would be like Xbox owners turning round and saying that Microsoft are a bunch of pasty faced, speccy geeks who's best idea of a fun computer game involves Trains and repeatedly driving them realistically round a track pretending to be the fat controller.
Oh and that Bill Gates is a money grabbing gimp who thinks he can buy his way into any industry and be sucessful, if he hasn't got something he shoves a fat wad of cash in front of people and hopes for the best.
Oh and that the way Microsoft take the games industry could be the whole things downfall, and that they seem to be forgetting that the games industry is just that games, it's not about shoving as many thingumy watsits and doodahs on your console and flogging it as a home entertainment system *cough* Xbox2 *cough*
Big business has led to the downfall of the Independent film industry, I really hope the games industry doesn't got the same way.
End of rant.
Oh and Bill Gates smells of wee
*runs*

Maybe you did, what I'm saying is - you lot are a lot more vocal about it now cause I certainly don't remember ever seeing Ninties slating Rare before these rumours.
