I am not laughing at Rare, Rare were my third favourite company and my first favourite company kicked 'em out to you guys. Oh no I'm laughing at the fact that Microsoft expect Rare to release 5 games in 2 years....

Trust me it won't happen.

No but I've heard about it. Is it the cartoony Joanna Dark in it?

MS bought Rare and Nintendos 49% stake, so that means ALL Rare linceses should be on xbox-PD,COnker, even Killer I.

Rumours that rare had xbox dev kits a few months ago probably were true, that why no new Rare games were shown at E3 for Gamecube. Xbox PD etc are all probably a few months into development.

I don't think Conker is a bad example. I enjoyed playing it, I found the playability excellent and got more longevity out of it.

Not everyone has to love Mario more mate. ;-)

Bad example. Conker was more atmosphere/comedy/gimmicky based than pure gameplay thrills.

Better example:
Those Japs never have and never will like FPS games.
Therefore, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark owe all their credit to Rare.
And I know that SOME of Goldeneye's team have left, but that didn't stop Rare from doing a fantastic job on Perfect Dark.

And then there's Jet Force Gemini.
Could've benefited from tighter controls and a slightly better designed deathmatch, but certainly a great job considering the innovation, and will provide the building blocks for a fantastic sequel.

If the N64 managed the original...

Well I don't remember Nintendo helping on the likes of Conker - and in my opinion, that was a better game than Mario.

Rare own everything they made.

So that's all the characters that have appeared in their games other than Donkey Kong and Starfox.

Hmm.. they can do the graphics, but how about the gameplay? It will be interesting to see how they do when developing a game by themselves for a change.

And that's why they hired Rare, who judging by latest Kameo screens, have REALLY come up with the goods...

Banjo's a little sketchy. I think Nintendo helped with the first Banjo game, or at least own part of the rights. After all, he was in Diddy Kong Racing. All the others are likely to leave the GC though.
