Just got an email today from Microsoft saying that Iam one of the people to be chosen for Beta testing for XBox live. The email says :

" Thanks for waiting to participate in the beta. The response exceeded 100,000.

We wanted to let you know we plan to send you an email no later than September 20th regarding your status to potentially be included in our beta test program.
You're at the top of our pre-registration list for our ongoing beta program. So you'll be the first to create a Gamertag and the first to know when it's time to get in this incredibly intense, high-speed gaming experience. That means you can start creating a rep before most.

We selected our initial beta testers this week and will be adding many more over the weeks to come. If you have not yet been contacted, we will be contacting you on or before September 20th regarding your status to potentially be included in our beta test program.

We want to thank you for your willingness to participate in the program, but want to let you know that we have many more applicants than we have openings. However, remember that this is just the beta, and we're working feverishly to bring to you the actual Live service on November 15th, 2002. This is when we will have made the necessary tweaks to create the ultimate online gaming arena for you and your friends.

redeyez are you American? The UK testing doesnt start yet, as we are only just get confirmation emails that we may be selected. If we are selected we will get an email before September 20th.

Whats this Crap? I thought, if you do get picked you'd get the xbox Live Starter (Beta) Kit.....

The "Green" Transparent Xbox is a "Debug Kit" it allows magazines to play games that are quite far away from being fininshed......

Also you will receive a password to post on the x-box live beta testing forums, i shouldn't even be posting this because you have to sign a contract to say that you won't.Just thought I'd let you guys know that the testers have already been selected,although more may be selected as time goes on,and you can't keep the games either:(

If you haven't received your beta testing x-box yet then you HAVE NOT been selected, as i said i already have mine and 5 online games are due next week, you should have received an e-mail about 2 weeks ago saying you've been picked and that you will recieve your box and games soon and that your credit card has been confirmed.

You mean you haven't got your nice transparent green x-box yet...?
Mine turned up two days ago and 5 games are following shortly,can't wait!!!

Yep I got it aswell I signed up when they were beta testing the american one when that got first annouced :)

Still, its a good sign.

It's basically a confirmation of your earlier email. They havn't chosen yet?
