Just got an email today from Microsoft saying that Iam one of the people to be chosen for Beta testing for XBox live. The email says :

" Thanks for waiting to participate in the beta. The response exceeded 100,000.

We wanted to let you know we plan to send you an email no later than September 20th regarding your status to potentially be included in our beta test program.
You're at the top of our pre-registration list for our ongoing beta program. So you'll be the first to create a Gamertag and the first to know when it's time to get in this incredibly intense, high-speed gaming experience. That means you can start creating a rep before most.

Xbox live is just going to rule.

I reckon Microsoft should release xbox live in Europe about December time (before christmas) that way people who are getting xbox's for christmas will have access to the service straight away.

I suppose the get kids part might explain it!

Missed a vital part there!

You might be able to take your character online and fight others, you never know. But i doubt it.

I have read somewhere that Xbox Live will play a part in Prject Ego, Phantasy Star Online was... online and that was an RPG so I guess the same here.

Yeah its gonna rock! Except we'll have to wait until Xmas 2003 to play Halo 2.

Its and RPG, Single player i guess.

Two months?! Wow, that's so cool! Try and nick a few things while you lot are there :-)

I think Xbox Live is gonna rock, especially when Halo 2 comes out - I can't wait. As for other games, does anybody know if Project Ego is going to be online? This is one of the games I'm most looking forward to playing, along with Star Wars: Galaxies and Unreal Tournament 2003.

If you get picked then the games you get only work for the beta testing stage.
Also you still have to pay, even while you are beta testing.

I dont care though. If they let me beta test Ill happily pay the full price for it.
Of course I may need to become very ill to miss school for around two months.
