Two Thousand Maniacs (1964): One of the first gore film ever made, directed by the infamous sleaze director H G Lewis, the film tells the story of a small southern town who are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Civil War. They capture a small group of North Americans and force them to take part in such 'fun' events as roll-the-man-in-the-nail-lined-barrel and target practice involving a pretty girl and a boulder. Hillarious gory cheese fest that has to be seen to be beleived only really for those with a sick sense of humour, anyone with a weak stomach should stay away.

Mhmm and does the ending rule or what?
Inspired.
Pitch Black is a cool film that may have passed many people by...

Brilliant film, marred slightly by the fact that I got the twist about half way through. Not as bad as sixth sense which I ruined for all my family by getting the twist straight after the introductory scene.
Oh well, films about ritual murder and vodoo have got to be good. Films starring micky o'rouke (sp?) are better (mmmmmmm)

Cool, I watched that again yesterday. Also, make sure you watch The Royal Tenenbaums, largely ignored by the population of the Earth, it's by the same guy who did Rushmore.
