Hi Adrian, long time no speak, how are you?

Well I started off at Pipex on the 62.xxx.xxx.xxx scheme but recently moved over to the 81.xxx.xxx.xxx scheme. One of my colleagues told me that this was unfortunate as Pipex were having problems with that DHCP server.

I checked on Thursday morning and saw that I had changed back to the 62. scheme so I was fairly happy, infact I've been happy with the service since the beginning of May. This is the longest I've been down :-(

Thats the only speed the modem connects at. Its not the true speed, as you probably will have 450-60 Kbps, which is still 60K/s.

Got Pipex and no probs what so ever. A few mates of mine who also have it are having probs. Had a prob last Sunday as from the afternoon till monday morning there was no connection for me. Also noticed that the server that I connect to is on a different IP. So maybe its down due to IP changes.

Yeah, you maybe at the moment but it seems to be spreading round the country. Check out the forums on www.adslguide.org.uk and goto the Pipex technical forum, you'll see plenty of people start complaining that their connection is down.

You maybe lucky, you may not, if it goes it will be nothing to do with the BT Exchange now, it's all down to Pipex :-(

I'm on Pipex now, no problems, apart from it being a little slow.

Quick tip, if id doesn't work for a day or two, ask them to have BT check their software at the exchange, thats the most likely cause at this time if you suddenly can't connect, thats what myself and a few friends had, and it took 4 weeks to locate it was a BT software problem, so when you phone up the support, ask them to have that checked as soon as possible.

Hi people, quick question for anyone using the Pipex ADSL connection at home.

Anyone having a problem connecting today, I've been trying for the last 4 and a half hours but no joy. Have had to come to a friends house to post this.

Can't even connect to my web based email facility :-(

Cheers for any feedback.

WOOHOO, my ADSL is all of a sudden working again, I was told BT would be checking the connection between the exchange and my home, which I guess they did and fixed :o)

Thanks to all for your input and help over the last few weeks.

cjh,

This unfortunately, just like the problem I had at first when I got my PIPEX ADSL installed. The good news is that it is probably your local Exchange, BT Engineers just love to fiddle with things.

Goto the following link, set yourself up as a user and post your problem in the PIPEX forum, put your details in with a description about what's been happening and when and what you've been saying on here, you will get a reply either from the people on the forum who are really helpful or you will get a PIPEX tech support person leave you a message. The site is really helpful and I finally got my connection sorted after leaving lots of posts about how cr@p PIPEX were etc etc.

Let us know how you get on.
