At first i couldn't decide which one to get what with sonys previous success but i am a loyal nintendoid so this should be tricky.
Firstly which has better graphics, hah are you kidding the gamecubes are almost like real life and totally brilliant whereas a dreamcast could probably handle the ps2's then theres multiplayer,ps2 hmmm 2 controllers and sonys imagination i think ill opt for the gcs 4 player+internet ability. Then i wondered about the games, most people may dissagree but i think that sony make terrible games with the exception of ff7 [ff8 was naff though]
whilst Nintendo are imaginative and produce the most original games ever. So Gamecube it is then, oh also what kind of name is playstation 2 anyway and soon there will probably be a tomb raider 25 where laras an old granny. Well Cya!

i'm almost sorry that there is only 1 week left before my PS2 arrives because i suspect you guys won't have as much time to log on and carry on with your playground banter.
i know much of it is tongue-in-cheek (actually i'm not so sure) but great entertainment. a simple post like "ps2 is crap" is like lighting the blue touch paper and waiting for the explosion.
if you were all really in the playground, by now you would be in the toilets comparing the size of your p*icks!
By the way, i only ordered the ps2 for the dvd player, it seemed like sound economics to me considering a dedicated dvd player retails at about the same price. But now i'm quite looking forward to playing games on it and have pre-ordered fifa 2001 and metal gear solid 2.
And in the opinion of someone whos last console was an intellivision (how many of you remember that?), there has never been much to choose technically from any of the consoles and i suspect there never will be. the success of one over the other is in the games.

The Gamecube isn't even available in Japan yet, do you really expect to see it in Europe next year (maybe at the ECTS show though)?

If Sony called there new console something other than Playstation, it would be like Nintendo deciding to scrap Mario fro the Gamecube. Sony don't have an icon or a character to sell on the back of, it's the name Playstation that people know, so they should stick with it.

as for who made the name up PS2, probablythe same person who designed your duplo brick aka postman pats lunch box.
P.s PS2 will have internet connection in the furture, and i sugest you learn about computers b4 u talk posting crud.

I glad you cleared that up for us all the Playstation 2 is doomed to failure due to its name, if it was called something like the whale it would be alright.
