Yep, just bought a Satrun along with Magic Carpet and Fighting Vipers (this game is amazing! Can anyone remember how do do the Pepsiman cheat?).

Anyway, I'm savouring the box... haven't played yet.... might just have to plug it in soon...

Mojo, I never said that the Saturn was cheap, or even reasonably priced at release (hence the exclamation mark!). What I was saying that between £200 and £300 is the norm for a new console, so the PSX could hardly be said to be expensive at release:

"Compared to now, when a next gen console can debut at £150? It's stupidly high"

Although there is the one, ver very rare example of the GC having a release price below £200, when you actually look at all the console released in the last ten years, the PSX is within the standard price range.

I was talking about the last war :)

I didn't even know SEGA won the war before that, I and all my friends had SNESs, not Mega Drives. Wasn't until I kept seeing it posted on Digitiser that I saw the Mega Drive had sold well

NO NO NO! The console war first started when I was a nipper and was ridiculed by my mates for having a NES when they all had Master Systems...

"To say that the PSX was expensive at launch is nonsense"

So, so the PSX *wasn't* more money than I've ever seen in my life when it came out? Oh, OK. Glad you cleared that up

To say that £400 is NOT a lot of money, even compared to £200/300 is rediculous

My friend has a saturn(its in his attic) and he might well have a copy of nights and all those other games.

I have never played a Saturn, I want to though.

Mojo, a bit short sighted of you! The Saturn came in at £400, PSX at £300, N64 at £250 , DC at £200, PS2 at £300 and Xbox at £300. The GC is the exception- not the rule by a long way. To say that the PSX was expensive at launch is nonsense. It's a reasonable price when compared to the trend of console releases over the last decade. After all, no one complained that the PS2 was too much at launch, despite being the same price!

An amazingly original flying fantasy game in which you take control of either Claris or Elliot and defend the dream world by flying around in the guise of NiGHTS! This was easily the most original game of the 90's and beats anything since.

I had a saturn. I bought it when it came out, although my memorie's now slighty dodgy about it. I remember I had all the normal games like Virtua Fighter 4, Clockwork Knights 1+2, Sonic e.t.c.

Anyone remember much about Christmas N1GHTS? I rememeber they ended up plonking it on the front of the Saturn Magazine I used to buy, and I recognise the screenshots, but I can't remember anything other than that. The date functions ring a bell. How much is it worth now? I sold my Saturn when it was still possible to sell them, but N1GHTs wasn't worth much then. So I don't regret anything too much, seeing as it was only Christmas nights with no box or anything...

The CD player on the saturn was the best I've seen on a console! Putting it into full screen mode, with the space effects and the rocket that comes along everynow and then. It was also the best for functions.

Oh how I miss it :(

Stupidly high price? The PSX was £300- a reasonable release price for the technology. The Saturn was £400!
