Yep, just bought a Satrun along with Magic Carpet and Fighting Vipers (this game is amazing! Can anyone remember how do do the Pepsiman cheat?).

Anyway, I'm savouring the box... haven't played yet.... might just have to plug it in soon...

ah! How I remember the days of asking my friend whether he kept his feet warm on the ludicrous power supply of the C64, while he asked me whether I was using my Spectrum as a doorstop.

Those were the days. Gah! I'm feeling old now.

Anyway, Christmas NiGHTS was great and featured lots of time options where you could set the calender for all different effects. For instance, Christmas would have the full Christmas story where you had to get the star for the top of the tree, featuring some lovely art work and a spoken narrative, valentine's day would have lots of hearts in the background of the game and easter would feature eggs and a candy theme. Oh, and I still have a copy which I pop in my Saturn every Christmas. Everyone should own this game if they want something Christmassy to play.

The Saturn was great and I still have 6 games for it at the moment.

Hmm, I honestly can't remember whether it was the Master System that beat the NES, or the Mega Drive that beat the SNES. Someone good with history, tell us!

Ooooh, I had Magic Carpet on the PSX - sweet game.

When Bullfrog were independent they made brilliant games like
Dungeon Keeper on the PC, Syndicate Wars on the snes/psx,
The Populous Series on the master system/megadrive/PC/psx and the original Theme Park was brilliant and Theme Hospital was SWEEEEEET.

Which console do you mean? I think you might be right about the Master System, but the Mega Drive?

Mojo, this is th third time I'm saying it. The Satun WAS massively expensive at launch. I've said this twice before! So why do you come out saying:
"Yes, but £400 was, and still is, a lot of money for a console"

I know this. What I was talking about was your comment about the PSX being expensive at launch- which is nonsense. It cost £300, which is the same as 2 of the 3 current consoles! £300 is not a high amount of money for a newly released console, like you said:
"Compared to now, when a next gen console can debut at £150? It's stupidly high" (that was in response to me talking about the PSX's price!).

So, what are you on about?!??! You said that the PSX's price was high at launch, and I said it wasn't and that the Saturn was high at launch. Then you come back saying that the Saturn was high at launch. I KNOW THAT! That's what I said right from the start! What are you arguing about!?

Congmon, the first console war was probably back before the days of the spectrum- before we were born!

Anyway, Sega have never won any console war. In Japan, the NES and SNES both sold more than all the other console sales put together (in each console's lifetime). That includes all the dozens of 8 bit consoles that were around, and Sega's own MD and MS.

However, in the West the Master System did rack up decent sales- not nearly as many as the NES, but it was the only console to get close. The Mega Drive didn't do as well as the SNES, but sales did come in very well, esp when Sonic 2 came out one christmas in the states.

Yes, but £400 was, and still is, a lot of money for a console, no matter what other prices were. I don't remember any console being as high as £400 on release (I think the 64 may have been, but it dropped very quickly)

You could buy a half decent PC for £400!
