Hi. Looking around I've noticed a lot of posts under the names of things such as 'SSBM - Help!', and 'Super Smash Bros. Melee Tips?' and things along those lines. Well, anyway, they seem to be ten a penny at the moment, so I've taken the liberty of making this the help thread. Thank-you, thank-you, hold your applause...

Anyway, I'll start us off. I can't get further than 215 meters in the home run contest. I've been using Ganondorf. Anyone got any tips or strategies? Who's the best character to use?

use Donkey kong and keep pressing down and repetaly pressing a they will go flying.

it make take some time though.

use DK , stand in the middle of the stage , and just keep pressing down and b (or down and a) it's the move the makes him continuously smack the ground , and whenever one of those stick people come near you they just fly off the screen , even if they come from above. You'll do it in NO time !

I knew it was roughly 3.2ft to the metre, but I found an more accurate figure on the net and used good ol' Windows calculator to do the hard work! :)

P.S. I VOW to get NINTYuk back up and running before the Summer's out, I just gotta get myself some 'motivation' first, whatever the hell that is!


By the way (and this is to any decent SSBM player), I'm REALLY struggling to obtain Falco (i.e. beat 100-man melee). I've managed 80 KO's with Jigglypuff (don't laugh). Any tips?

thanks james , i wondered how much it was in metres , ive gotta a bit of work to do if im gonna get over 550m , where did you change the units (on the net?)

i used the yoshi method and i only got 400.5M but ill try again

Microchips and shocktroopers are the best methods , it's the one that i used and i got 1552.2 ft ! All the magazines say that yoshi is the best aswell , so use him.

By using your method Shocktrooper, I've managed to significantly increase my furthest distance to 332.6m.
Impressive as this is, it's still nowhere near your best. I only manage to get in about 5 good down+a attacks, which leaves the bag at around 95% before it meets the bat!

Without trying I have 242 meters with Roy. But I will use your tips to get it further. (:)

Is it is in FT on the american version?
