Hi. Looking around I've noticed a lot of posts under the names of things such as 'SSBM - Help!', and 'Super Smash Bros. Melee Tips?' and things along those lines. Well, anyway, they seem to be ten a penny at the moment, so I've taken the liberty of making this the help thread. Thank-you, thank-you, hold your applause...

Anyway, I'll start us off. I can't get further than 215 meters in the home run contest. I've been using Ganondorf. Anyone got any tips or strategies? Who's the best character to use?

Ooops! Yeah, it's down + a! heh

I use the same method as Microchips, except it's down + A for his rapid kicks.

Quick as you can, pick up the bat, then jump by TAPPING the jump button, making you go LOW over the bag - this will mean most of youer kicks will hit and it's quicker.

I managed to get the bag's percentage to 145% or something, doing that method as many times as possible in the time, and then hitting it with the bat.
It went 595 metres.
Beat that :P

I have gotten 458m with yoshi. To do this, first grab the bat, then dash at th bag with it. The bag should land on the edge of the platform. Then keep making small jumps and pressing down + B to do yoshis rapid kicks. Keep doing this rught up to 1 second, and the bag should be aroun 125%, then smash it. Get over 450 and get a paper mario trophy too!

using gannondorf, pick up the bat, i do that up+a twirly kick, charge that for a split second, jump and kick down, then up kick, dont cvharge that, then quicly jump up and kick it down, then you should have just enough time left to hit it with the bat. i got exacly 415m last time i did this.

Seriously though, there isn't really an 'on demand' tips service though. You can't go in and ask about something. This way, you can get it done quicker, and more effectively.

Thanks, I've been pushing > + B to punch it into the air, keep it up with that and then charge up at about 66%. I'll try that method.
