The "Xbox Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
I have, on many occasions, seen people criticise the GameCube because of cosmetic reasons though. Colour, size and even the fact it has a handle! So bloody what? The console is only the shell for the hardware!
Comments about the controllers. I find the X-box controller really uncomfortable. I've got large hands so that can't be the reason for my discomfort. Whatever the reason is, I still find it uncomfortable. That doesn't mean everyone else finds it comfortable, just the same as if you find it comfortable, it doesn't mean everyone else does.
To me, the GameCube controller is the most comfortable controller I've ever used. I used to think that of the Dreamcast's controller before the GameCube, so no one give me that "Ninty" crap. Not everyone has the same opinions and we all have the right to express them.
Daveus for some reason believes that we, who don't necessarily enjoy the X-box as much as other consoles we've played, have no right to our opinions. Infact, as you may be aware, he told me...sorry, ORDERED me to get out of the X-box forum because of my opinions! Why he thought he had the authority to do so I do not know and I will take this up with the staff if I have to. If everyone who likes or has liked previous consoles in the past wasn't allowed to post in here, the X-box forum would be empty!
Debation (even in mass quantities :D) is what the forums are about. Some people will like one console, others will like another, and some will like every one of them. That's what these forums are about! The X-box forum isn't designated for X-box fans, just X-box topics. Anyone can post their opinions. Otherwise, what are you doing here other than to see other's opinions? Oh, I forgot, you're writing long and meaningless topics to try and win the X-box game of your choice. Those of you who do only come here for the competition, get out more! If you come here for the community, for entertainment value, for opinions and discussions on gaming matters - AS WELL as to hopefully win a game of your choice, then good for you.
Now this goes for everyone who reads it, no matter which forum they are in, atleast take note that other's have opinions too. There's no point in being selfish, no point in getting yourselves worked up, and in Daveus' case, there's no point in making a right fool out of yourself by trying to play Hitler! Have fun, keep the peace and just enjoy yourselves a little. I personally don't come online to see bullying, name calling, exclusion and pettiness. If I wanted that, I'd go back to school! I'm sure you don't come on here for those reasons either.
Just do me one favour....Listen.
I never go into the Nintendo forum looking for trouble, I never go typing "Xbox is better rubbish" becuase they don't want to hear it, it is what a Fanboy would do and I am not like that. It seems that Edgy, Er-no, Tiltawhirl and SolidSnakeXXI are the only ones that can discuss the GameCube sensibly all the rest either force their opinions or come in here to deliberatley cause trouble!

I think Microgarlicbread was merely hypothesising. The PS2 and X-Box are fine games consoles, but they're more than that too, so technically, they are entertainment system. The GameCube concentrates on pure gaming, which is why it's price is so low.

Well in that case then:
The Gamceube doesn't have a DVD player which does not effect the games that are released it just make it a poorer console. Let me just ask this, is an installation required to play Xbox games? Does the graphics card need updating? Is the latest Direct X required? For crying out loud the Xbox is a *GAME CONSOLE*, yes it has a DVD player, yes it has a Hard Drive, yes it is preparing for the internet but at the end of the day its a games-console. I admire the price of the GameCube and I am moving towards getting one for my Birthday in October! The Xbox can play games straight from the box, no upgrades, no fuss just gaming from a box, that is what a console is, *GAMING FROM A BOX*!
You say well if the Xbox is a multi-media device then the GameCube must be the best console, *OPEN YOUR EYES* and stop drowing in Nintendo lust, the market is a busy place and there are 2 new-comers who are going to patch out some awesome games between now and chistmas, just be happy with what you have got!

Well in that case then:
The best console on the market is the GameCube
And the best Multi-media device is the PC

The only reason I pointed that out was because that's all a PC is...so I can't see why people leave out PCs...
I don't consider a PC a console..
> Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Halo coming out on PC soon?
You're correct, acording to SR magazine and other sources. The words 'ONLY ON X-BOX' spring to mind in the form of a big lie.

That's true, he did say he didn't want them.

Whether this new 3D version of worms will play better on consoles or not can not be judged until it's finally released, but no one can deny that the 2D worms games, from Worms United to Worms World Party, have played better on the PC than on consoles. Infact, the Playstation version of the original worms couldn't handle the music, the Nintendo 64 version of Worms Armageddon was very dry, the Dreamcast version of Worms World Pary was a decent game but just didn't have all the features and the keyboard controls were confusing when compared to the PC versions.

Just because a game like Halo is considered the best, it doesn't mean that everyone likes them. So what if it's so far only on X-box? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Halo coming out on PC soon? And chances are if that is so, Halo 2 wont be far behind...
