Ahhh...the joys of winning the Pod-Racing Championship with Teemto Pagalies. I will admit that it's too short, but it's extreme fun while it lasts.
PS2 is going through a dry patch at the moment, but I'm very much looking forward to:
Star Wars Bounty Hunter
Wreckless
Red Faction 2
LOTR: The Two Towers
Tekken 4
GTA: Vice City
GTA: Miami (are these two the same game?)
GT Concept
TOCA Race Driver
Crash
Blade 2
Soul Caliber 2
WWE Smackdown 4
Turok Evolution
Pro Evolution Soccer 2
MGS Substance
Run Like Hell
The Getaway
Robocop (this ahould be funny)
Big Mutha Truckers ;D (Classic name though)
Driver 3
Ominusha 2
Devil May Cry 2
Burnout 2
Spyro 4
Thief 3
Malice
Die Hard
Return To Castle Wolfenstein
This Is Football 2003
And, although I personally don't like these, they are certain favourites throughout the world:
Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
LMA Manager 2003
Black and White
Ape Escape 2
Dino Crisis 3
Whew. Now that's not too bad, is it?
And does anyone know if Big Mutha Truckers will live up to its fantastic name? {:)
the PS2 has more top titles and more coming out

I wouldn't say the PS2 has more top titles coming out in the future, infact i'd say the PS2 release list is rather lacking but that's a matter of opinion.
Anyway, back to the topic, I would much rather have a PS2 than the XBox. At the moment, the PS2 has more top titles and more coming out in the future. Games are all that matters, so, end of story. PS2 is better than the XBox.
That's my totally unbiased as I own a Gamecueb and have no intention in getting either of these consoles. Not quite sure where you got the idea that PS2 has fast loading time but nevermind.
Where as if you have an ounce of sense in your body then get a GC :D

i agree.

*Chuckles*
Sticking to the topic though, I can tell you from experience (having played both consoles for extended lengths of time on their "juggernaught" title), that the PS2 is currently the better option - possibly even always the better options.
The X-Box is something that should never have happened, a greedy company, who can't even get software right, taking pieces of existing hardwarde technology from PCs and stuffing them into a box before calling it a console. Theres nothing special in there, nothing new, nothing specifically developed for THAT system alone to give it the extra performance in it's games.
Now if we're comparing games...
Halo, nothing fantastic at all, if you want more details you can take a peek at the review I submitted for it... but suffice to say that its graphics are nothing special. It looks like any other dated PC title to me, and Microsoft have been too lazy to utilise the hardware to it's full potential and really juice the thing. Its ONLY redeeming feature is in the size of the levels, and the multiplayer mode, don't buy it for single player - if you gave me £50 I could come around your house and beat you about the head with a baseball bat, you'd have about as much fun. ;)
The game is ok, but nothing amazing.
Visually, and in terms of playability, Metal Gear Solid 2 is light years ahead of Halo... as is Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Devil May Cry, and a speight of other PS2 titles. For a system that is *supposed* to be (Having seen the specs on the other two systems I don't place much stock in their bravado) the slowest of the bunch, it currently has the BEST looking games across all platforms... heck I haven't even seen a PC game as good looking as those two titles despite being constantly on the search for one, and those aren't the only titles like that, just the ones I've actually played.
Microsoft are currently suffering from the deserved skepticism and disinterest that comes from being a mediocre company, with a monopoly in the operating systems market, and if the current widespread viewpoint and stance on th X-Box continues - it WILL be a shortlived venture, it just doesn't have the staying power of longevity of the Gamecube or PS2.
