Ok, I've just had an idea to liven this forum up.

Quite a simple concept, I'm going to start a World Cup tourny on Pro Evo, and I'm going to let you lot pick a team from the list below. I'll post the scores as they happen to keep you up to date.

All i can say is Congratulations to Ecuador who beat Korea. I am proud of my team. They caMe out of a tough group and i hope they keep me on for the next tournament. Ah well, COME ON ECUADOR. YOU CAN BEAT SOUTH AFRICA.

Second Round Match H

Korea (Mandatare) vs Ecuador [Chile] (Natbuc & nh)

1st Half report
This is the most anticipated game of the tournament, but who will win?
Korea kick off. Ecuador are on the break, they’re charging up the field, the midfielder unleashes a shot from some distance, it’s heading for the top corner…the keeper amazingly manages to tip it over for a corner. The corner’s whipped in…Half cleared, but Ecuador just can’t put any pressure on as they lose possession.
Some good play by Korea has left the winger with some room, he crosses it in…blocked for a throw in, thrown to the winger who crosses it in…cleared.
The Ecuadorian attacker has picked up the loose ball, he goes past the Korean defence, he’s 1 on 1 with the keeper… HE SLOTS IT UNDER THE KEEPER, KOREA 0:1 ECUADOR. 16 minutes gone, an early lead for the Ecuadorians, can they hold onto it?
Korea kick off. Ecuador push forward, the midfielder has some room, he blasts a shot along the ground...the keeper can only parry it, the ball falls cruely to the Ecuador striker HE STICKS INTO AN OPEN GOAL KOREA 0:2 ECUADOR…..BUT WAIT, THE LINESMAN’S GIVEN AN OFFSIDE DECISION, IT WONT COUNT! Korea survive, only just.
Ecuador have a free kick, crossed in…headed towards goal…off the bar and cleared!
We’re into injury time. Ecuador are through again, the forward strikes at goal, IT GOES INTO THE BOTTOM CORNER, KOREA 0:2 ECUADOR RIGHT ON HALF TIME.

Well Korea really are up ‘poo’ creak without a paddle, it’ll take something extraordinary to pull back.


2nd Half Report
Ecuador kick off. Ecuador have a corner, crossed in, glanced towards goal…just wide of the back post, unlucky. Korea are on the break, the winger crosses towards goal, there’s a looping header… that just goes over the bar, hard lines.
The Korean winger is heading for the box, but he’s been maliciously scythed down, and he’s off! A straight red card for the Ecuadorian defender! The free kick has been crossed in… cleared.
Korea are getting desperate now as we enter the last ten minutes without a ign of a fightback.
The Korean midfielder dinks the ball into the box, the striker latches onto it, he gets the faintest of touches on it, it’s past the keeper… IT’S IN, KOREA HAVE GOT A GOAL BACK! KOREA 1:2 ECUADOR! 82 minutes gone.
Korea go on the attack, a thru ball is played to the forward, he can equalize…but he hits the post! So close, Now we’re into injury time, that’s Korea’s best and probably last chance to equalize!
There it is, the final whistle, Korea are out, Ecuador are through, but only just.

It was always going to be hard for Korea to pull it back, but commiserations to them for their valiant attempt, Ecuador will play next, South Africa.

Second Round Match G

Japan (Vottanator) vs Turkey (Pro Evo)

1st Half Report
Japan kick off. Japan concede an early free-kick, and Morita gets booked for it. The free-kick is floated in…half cleared, the Turkish winger goes for the one-two…intercepted…cleared.
Turkey have a corner, crossed in... half cleared…and Turkey cant take advantage.
Japan’s Inamoto is through here, the thru-ball slides across the wet surface, he’s 1 on 1 here, he shoots… but it grazes the bar and goes over, hard lines.
Turkey have another corner, its whipped in… but the keeper collects.
After a od spell of play, Japan’s winger has made himself some room to perform a cross, it’s floated in…headed for a corner. He’s gone for the short corner, Crossed in…offside!
A Japanese defender has been cauht in possession, the Turkish attacker in 1 on 1 with the keeper… HE SLOTS UNDER THE KEEPER’S BODY, JAPAN 0:1 TURKEY! 38 minutes gone.
Japan kick off. Turkey have another corner, crossed in… half cleared, Injury time. Half time.


Badgerman’s Half time thought
Not the best of halves action wise, but Turkey have still managed to get a goal, let’s see if Japan an equalize.


2nd Half Report
Turkey Kick off. Turkey are making progress down the wing, it’s crossed in... but the keeper collects. Turkey’s winger blasts a cross in, beautifully controlled by Hasan Sukur on the edge of the area, he goes for the curler at the opposite post...It just goes wide, that shot was just like a Bergkamp trademark if you know what I mean, a fast curling at the back post kind of shot, damn unlucky.
Japan manage to get a cross in… half cleared…passed back to an attacker in the box, he’s got some room, can he score? NO, he blasts it along the floor just wide of the far post. 80 minutes gone.
*Baderman goes to sleep.
Japan are getting desperate now, 85 minutes gone. We’re now into injury time. It’s all over, Japan are out, Turkey are through.


Badgerman’s Final thought
Well, it wasn’t the best of games, but the score is what counts here, and that’s in Turkey’s favour, so they advance into the quarter finals. Tomorrows match SOUTH KOREA (MANDATARE) VS ECUADOR [CHILE] (NATBUC & NH)!

Second Round Match F

Brazil (Mr. Chainsaw) vs Belgium (Outback Ash)

1st Half Report
The two teams take their positions. Brazil kick off. A Belgium defender has been caught in possession, Romario (Yes Romario) is into the area he’s 1 on 1 with the ‘keeper, he hits it across goal…and just wide, an early scare for the Belgians there.
The Belgian winger has been able to put a cross into the box, picked up by their striker, who loses possession, but it’s picked up by the opposite winger, half cleared, he goes for goal… post and wide, what an unexpected shot their, the best chance has fallen to the Belgians right there.
Brazil march forward, Romario breezes past the defenders as if they weren’t there, he shoots… it hit’s the post and Belgium clear! Brazil have a corner, whipped in, Belgium clear and are on the break, played out-wide to the winger, who cuts inside of the Brazilian defenders, he has a goal for goal…it deflects off the keepers leg, unlucky.
Belgium intercepts the ball, moved forward, Brazil intercept, and break on the Belgium’s quick break attack, the winger goes for a cross… headed out for a Brazilian corner. Crossed in… cleared by Belgium. Belgium push forward, a thru ball from the midfielder has left the attacker with a 1 on 1 situation, can he finish? NO, he puts it embarrassingly wide of the post, should be 1:0.
Belgium have pushed forward from a long ball, headed down into the path of their attacker, he’s 1 on 1 with the keeper again, can he score this time? NO, the keeper makes an amazing save, Belgium corner. Whipped in, half cleared, picked up by the Belgium midfielder. Some good play has earned them a corner. Crossed in, headed towards goal…parried by the keeper, into the Belgium attackers path, can he score? NO, he puts it wide, how? Belgium should be winning 3:0! 38 minutes gone.

Well well well, Belgium have surprised everyone here, but they just cant convert the chances. Brazil will have to raise their game to beat this strong Belgium team.


2nd Half Report
Belgium kick off. They push forward straight away, the winger makes a cross… cleared. Brazil are on the break, it’s a 1 on 1 with the keeper, he shoots…what a save!!! The keeper somehow deflects it just wide of the post, corner to the Brazilians. Whipped in…cleared. The winger plays a cheeky one-two before crossing it in, it’s headed towards goal… just over, hard lines. Luciano gets booked.
Belgium have yet another 1 on 1, can he finish it now? NO, he still cant, this time he blasted it just wide of the post, that now should be…4:0 to Belgium.
Brazil are on the break…it’s 1 on 1…he shoots...hit’s the bar! And the follow up is caught by the keeper, another scare for Belgium. 85 minutes gone.

Belgium should’ve had this match won 4:0, I don’t think they’ll make it through this now.


1st Period Extra Time Report
Belgium have an early free-kick in a decent position, he shoots… but it’s blasted over.
Brazil take the ball forward, Romario is dribbling comfortably into Belgiums half, he unleashes a fierce strike… IT GOES IN OFF THE POST WHAT A GOAL!!! IT’S ALL OVER, BRAZIL WIN ON GOLDEN GOAL. Brazil will play next France
