Ok, I've just had an idea to liven this forum up.

Quite a simple concept, I'm going to start a World Cup tourny on Pro Evo, and I'm going to let you lot pick a team from the list below. I'll post the scores as they happen to keep you up to date.

Here is the list of teams :-

Argentina
Belgium
Brazil
Cameroon
China
Costa Rica (Peru)
Croatia
Denmark
Ecuador (Chile)
England
France
Germany
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Korea
Mexico
Nigeria
Paraguay
Poland
Portugal
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Senegal (Jamaica)
Slovenia
South Africa
Spain
Sweden
Tunisia
Turkey
Uruguay
USA

But be quick, this goes by a first come first serve basis.

P.S If we dont have all the teams chosen by a certain date I'll just start without that team being represented by anybody.

Here's today's macth....

Second Round Match E

Italy (Dead Wonder) vs Portugal (Dav1d)

1st half report
Two evenly matched teams here, should be a close game. Italy to kick off. Portugal have put together some good play here, their striker’s found himself some room…he shoots… keeper parries, but the balls come back to the striker… and it floats over his head, early scare there for the Italians. Figo manages to get into the box, he shoots… but it rolls harmlessly towards the keeper, the Portuguese are dominating the game at this early stage.
Yet again another Italian has ended with an interception, the Portuguese are on the break, the winger receives a thru ball, he crosses it first time… half cleared, and the midfielder took a wild swing at it that sent the ball flying over.
Figo picks the ball up in his own half he brings the ball forward, unchallenged, he takes on a midfielder, oooh he darts past two midfielders…and the remaining defender, he’s 1 on 1 with the keeper, he shoot’s... it hits the keeper’s leg! If he could’ve finished, in my opinion, it would have been goal of the tournament.
A Portuguese defender has been caught in possession, he shoot’s from a tight angle, but it’s going miles wide, the keeper lunges… but he only parries it out! Vieri’s got an open goal to head at, can he score? HE CAN, ITALY 1:0 PORTUGAL. 33 mins gone.
Portugal kick off. Injury time. Half time whistle

Badgerman’s half time thought
Well isn’t this a familiar situation eh? The favourite leading at Half time, but they have ALWAYS lost the game in the second half, so I’m definitely not ruling a team of Portugal’s caliber out.

2nd Half Report
Portugal kick off. Xavier gets booked for a late tackle. Italy have a corner kick, 70 mins gone, it’s whipped in, cleared. Italy’s winger has room for the cross, which he floats in, cleared. * Badgerman goes to sleep of boredom, Terry Butcher takes over
Terry: It’s a sunny day (Rain is pouring down)
*Badgerman punches terry in jaw,
Enough of that crap, Portugal on the ttack for the first time in the second half, can he cross it? He does but it slides across the surface to no one, Figo is rushing in, he hit’s it…just wide as he hit across the goal, unlucky. 78 mins gone. Portugal have a throw in, played to the winger, who crosses it… just nodded away by the defender. Throw in again, played to the opposite winger and crossed in again...cleared. Portugal are desperate now. 85 mins gone. Portugal go on the attack, surely for the last time unless… of course. But it breaks down, injury time. Full time Italy go through, they will next play Slovenia in the quarters

Quarter Final schedule (So far) Note, the schedule was slightly irregular, Second round matches A & B got mixed up *cough Mandatare cough*

Stoooopid local journo's got it wrong on the radio.

We are playing Rovers on the 24th and City on the 27th.... Sounds more realistic !

Marcus is doing fine thanks - hopefully he'll be able to knock a few more in this season than last.

Hope everything goes ok with the trials - good luck !!

That seems very unlikely that City and rovers would join up. Rovers play West Brom next week so ipswich are probaly the week after. How's old Marcus Stewart these days anyway. The training-Well, i fainted through exhaustion the other day so i'm taking a couple of days off. My trails are this monday Morning and last through to wednesday afternoon.

Ahhhh - Ooopps I made a temporary name change after ribbing from Goaty the other day - the name seemed to suit his perception of me !!

I suppose I'd better change it back - or maybe not just yet - might go and wind a few people up first !!

Here's more from the stripey one:

Second Round Match D

South Africa (Lord H) vs Germany (HelloHowArtThou)

1st Match report
Today’s match is a rather unexpected one, South Africa, one of the biggest shocks in the tournament, are facing the unexpected runner-up of Group E, Germany. The two teams take their positions.
South Africa to kick off. Germany have a free-kick on the corner spot, possible danger here, it’s crossed in, headed down for jancker, he could score here…what a save, Jancker shoots from point blank range only to see it richoshade off the keepers leg. Free-kick to Cameroon, crossed in, headed in the air, Neuville controls it, the Cameroon winger knicks it before Neuville can bring the ball to his feet, Neuville retaliates by hacking the winger down, yellow card Neuville and another free-kick to Cameroon in a more promising position. He goes for goal…off the post and out for a goal kick!
South Africa are pushing down the wing, the midfielder crosses it low and hard, Kahn should get this, but there’s been a mix-up, a defender got in the way, it deflected off him, hit Kahn’s leg, went up in the air, it’s an easy header for the South African Striker SOUTH AFRICA HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD, SOUTH AFRICA 1:0 GERMANY, 21 mins gone.
Germany to kick off, can they pull back? Germany are on the break straight after the kick off, the winger has got some room, he blasts the ball across the 6-yard box line, the outstretched keeper has missed it! Jancker has open goal… GERMANY HAVE EQUALISED A MINUTE LATER!!! SOUTH AFRICA 1:1 GERMANY, 22 mins gone. South Africa kick off
South Africa have a free-kick just in the shooting range, it looks like he’ll have a go from here, he shoots…just over the bar, unlucky. South Africa have given away a free-kick in shooting range here, oh, and that’s a yellow card for Ngobe. He shoots… and he grazes the bar as it goes over. Injury time. Half time whistle

Badgerman’s half time though
After a surprising start for the South Africans, the match has slowly slipped from their grasp, leading to the in-evitable German equalizer, all they can do now is see if they can knick another goal and hold on for dear life, the good thing is, is that we’re guaranteed another goal.

2nd half Report.
Germany kick off. South Africa have a break on, their winger is pounding down the side with the ball, he drags it back, passes back, goes for the one two, disappointing, German throw. South Africa have had in total five shots in the second half, all of which, have gone over. Germany have a 1 on 1 here, he goes for the cheeky dink… just over, great play there. Booted up the field for South Africa, headed on… what a headed pass, it acted as a thru ball, South Africa have a 1 on 1 here… can he score? HE CAN, SOUTH AFRICA HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD!!!!!!!!!!! SOUTH AFRICA 2: 1 GERMANY, 70 mins gone.
Germany kick off, again. Issa gets booked for South Africa. Some desperate German attempts aren’t doing much. South Africa are at it again, the winger has some room, he crosses…half cleared… played back out to the winger.. out for a throw, some amazing play there by the Africans. 85 mins gone. The German defence has been caught in possession, the intercepter has a shot.. it’s heading for the bottom corner… what a save! Kahn supernaturaly managed to hyper-extend his arm to push the ball back to one of his defenders. Injury time THERE IT IS, THE FINAL WHISTLE. Germany are out, South Africa will play in the quarter final, either Korea or Ecuador.

Badgerman’s Final thought
Today Germany weren’t a patch on how good they can be, South Africa simply played better on the day, but I have to admit, South Africa are playing as if the trophy is already theirs! Watch out opponents
