What for? Anyone know?
> what do they say about making assumptions
Well, true! But it seems likely that's what happened, as it is common practice for offensive parts of posts to be removed with asterisks. Otherwise I'd have expected the whole post/thread to be deleted.
My last words on the whole thing are that I know you are usually a reasonable bunch, and I would hope that common sense prevails.

what do they say about making assumptions, we dont know that whoever banned him may not have done that. Has he actually been on here yet and said it was a joke/mistake?

Okay, well the request was for a code for Macromedia Fireworks.
Assuming you only replaced numbers with asterisks when the post was edited, he posted 4 sets of 4 digits.
We have Fireworks at work and the format of the codes is:
aaannn-nnnnn-nnnnn-nnnnn
...where 'a' represents a letter, and 'n' represents a number.
Therefore, it's pretty certain that the code he posted was a fake.
