Suddenly the only important thing in my life is knowing the Doctor's name.

*throws up all over the floor*

..bleh! the Doctor and his own daughter rumoured to be involved with each other? That's like Courteney Cox dating David Schwimmer.

Who's your daddy?

No, I'm with you. RTD isn't a bad writer per-se, but he can't do big conclusions, they just fizzle.

That said, he's done all the last chapters of every series so far and they haven't exactly been stinkers, just sometimes a bit of a letdown right at the end. Last series for instance, the final episode was great in parts, especially the twist at the end, but the events leading up to it just didn't seem to be the right pace, it was too untidy.

Moffat will change all that, I'm sure, but we have to wait 2 years to see it. In the meantime we'll get some nice stand-alones and hopefully Neil Gaimen will agree to write something for the 2010 series, now that would be special.

Am I only one who is a little underwhelmed by the fact RTD is writing the rest of this season. I am pleased that he brought back the show and I don't think his stories are the worst, but they all seem too cliched for my liking. I would love something a little different for the last few eps. No doubt we'll get the normal end of the world scenario with a nice big reset button at the end.

I agree, it's how Doctor Who started and it still benefits from cliff-hangers and a slower pace to properly introduce the characters and set the scene.

I think she is just a future companion of the doctor. I think she just got in contact with the wrong version of the doctor (different regeneration perhaps, but definitely at some point ten.)

Some people have speculated that she is the doctors wife in the future but I think that is a bit far fetched. A little part of me is niggling at me saying that she is going to die by the end of the next episode though i sincerely hope not (explanation timey-wimey).

A brilliant episode on the other hand though. This is what I watch doctor who for. I love the two parters the pace is that much slower that you don't feel like you are being forced into the conclusion.

No, she's not the Doctor, she didn't recognise Donna, she'd only heard about her. She's obviously someone very close to him though. Another Timelord? But then wouldn't he notice that?

It was a female hand that took the ring from the Master's finger last series, though, wasn't it? Might have nothing to do with it, but...

Got around to watching this last night, you're right it was a very good episode although it all seems very 'Matrix-y' (i.e. the little girl is living her life when she is, in fact, a security system or curator for this library planet. I'm still looking forward to this week though!

So is Alex Kingston a future incarnation of The Doctor or am I reading that completely wrong? It just seems to me that they are too similar, both has his sonic screwdriver (which, he "never gives to anyone"), they come out with similar phrases and she kept referring to him as 'young'. On the other hand I may be completely wide of the mark...

Well, Moffat does it again. Great story, some interesting plot developments, the whole memory ghosting thing was pretty spooky and will be interesting to see what the connection actually is with that girl and the library. 9/10. Hopefully the conclusion will get a 10/10!
