Well they said it wouldn't happen due to the fact Nintendo use mini DVD disk thingimies!

Well you may have noticed they picked the size disk which is becomming the new midi disk sized cd's.

You can buy 8cm cd's at the mo, and burn music to em and play em in a diskman thing.

But the Gamecube uses DVD's you all say!

Check this then :-

So how long till Gamecube games are being pirated then?

So how does the Q cube read DVDs...? Does it have dual lasers or something...? One for the curvy GC discs and one for normal DVDs...?

The GameCube disks are a concave shape, ie; they have a small curve on the readable side. The lazer tray in GameCube is specific to cope with this curve and so I'f anyone's gonna crack GC games (which i say is impossible) then they'll need a suitable reader.

GameCube games supposedly can't be copied.

The GameCube supposedly looks out for special grooves on the GameCube discs, but I can't remember all the details.

Games could be copied to mini-DVD's, which are readable by the GameCube, but whether they'll actually work or not is another thing...

It also slows the loading down when people post things twice. I reckon people only do this to get their word count up as well.

What do you think Cooky...?

Well it isn't gonna take some chaps in China too long to create a chip which can get round the copy protection now is it. I mean the ActionReplay can let you play American and Jap games on a EU machine!

Also quoting whole posts is a REALLY BAD way of trying to get your word count up! Also it's annoying cos it slows the loading of the pages for ppl with naff connections like me, when EVERY one of peoples posts, contains whole quotes of other peoples posts.

Sorry to nag, but it does half get annoying after a while!

Yeah I saw you can get a CD player to play the mini CDs from SR and can also buy CD-Rs of mini CDs... but there have been mini CDs for ages, not ones you can burn, but they've been around.

You could buy a demo of 'Forsaken' for the PC for a coup[le of quid in some shops and it was a small CD... and some music singles have been small sizes or even funny shapes (I think Less Than Jake did one in the shape of a birthday cake, and Greenday did one in the shape of a brain...?)

Anyway, we may see pirated games, but I still reckon the smaller size and that will make them less of a problem for Ninty than for Sony...
