Let's look at the evidence, shall we?
1. Sony released updated drivers for the DVD remote. Excuse me?! If UPDATING DRIVERS isn't a PC thing, then I don't know what is!
2. You can buy LINUX for your PS2. This is just beyond belief. You can buy:
Linux (for PlayStation 2) version 1.0 software
Monitor Cable Adaptor
Internal Hard Disc Drive (40 GB)
Network Adaptor (Ethernet) [10/100 Base-T]
USB Keyboard & USB Mouse (for PlayStation 2)

if you don't believe me.
Which console is nearest to a PC now, eh?
:-D

In the GamePlay mag I got through the post this morning, it had one shot of it and it was cel-shaded. When was it dumped?

Its done well in the U.S (maybe its just me but I've heard its quite a big country) and it hasn't done too badly here either. Sales are now picking up in Japan and the rest of Europe so although its had a slow start outside America, things are on the up now and with X-Box Live coming, sales will probably increase even further.
What (exclusive) games do I wanna play on X-Box?
- Halo
- Halo 2
- Project Gotham
- Shenmue 3 (if I don't get to play this all the way through I'm gonna kill someone)
- House of the Dead 3 (just play, not buy - I learnt my lesson with number 2 on the DC)
PS2?
- GTA4
- TOCA
- Any FF games
And GC?
- Metroid
- Zelda
- Mario Sunshine
- Starfox Adventures
- Lylat Wars
- F-Zero
- Mario Kart
- 1080
- Perfect Dark
- Kameo
- Killer Instinct
- Mario Party
- Mario Golf
- Any FF games
I know far more about the GC than the PS2 and far more about the PS2 than the X-Box. I have a PS2 and GC and I'm happy. The only reason I would ever want an X-Box is for Shenmue 3. Project Gotham is (apparently) the same as MSR which I have on the DC, and Halo (or its sequel) won't be as good as Perfect Dark (I know this to be true!). As for House of the Dead 3, number 2 got SOOO boring on the DC that I wish I'd never bought it. Plus, it's cell shaded on the X-Box. What's wrong with that? Well, you're killing cartoon zombies! They appear to have ruined it slightly. I say slightly, when of course what I really mean is TOTALLY!

I'd have to say, that anything 'wacky' should generally be considered a bad thing? (as should anything 'Zany') :)
Other than that... I think that if nothing else that it just goes to show that console developers spend an inordinate amount of time talking complete crap...
(that people then seem to believe completly and without question is another matter altogether? :) )
I don't usually bother with these arguments but hell I wanna play so..
Milking the same franchise eh? Tomb Raider/Ridge Racer anyone?
Plus both those games (there are lots more) I just mentioned had a number of releases on the same console! You get about one, maybe two Zelda games per machine. As for Mario, you got the one bog standard adventuring and fair enough the milked offsprings such as tennis, golf etc. Lets face it though they all offer something new and usually wacky to the genre so it's not as if they're total cash ins.
The only argument I will give you is Pokemon on the N64, that was milking it.
Plus have you noticed that Nintendo are trying out new ideas, such as the Cel Shaded Zelda, slightly risky but you can't say it's not new.

If it's not broke then why fix it?
Big names like Mario, Donkey kong, Zelda etc etc sell games. It's the same with Sega and Sonic, the only reason Microsoft and Sony don't have any franchises like that is because they have no History they're relative virgins to the console industry. You can hardly say the Nintendo are just fobbing us off with the same games with pretier graphics and a few extra features, just take a look at the wide range of Mario games to see that. Anyway Miyamoto has said that they're letting big name 3rd party developers take over a lot of their franchise games so they can work on creating new innovative titles.
