So? We all know that:
A) The PS2 has been around for a lot longer
B) Neither console will ever catch up
and
C) THE PS2 OWNS ALL! MUAHAHA!

That PS2 figure is quite remarkable. Considering the length of time the PS2 has been out and the number of people over there in Japan that must already have one, I can only think of two reasons why they'd suddenly start selling that many:
1) Boom in the gamer population? Maybe there was a babyboom 10 years ago and now they have all come of age for the console?
2) Some new killer game has just been released, one of those games that single handedly sells a console by itself. Wonder what it could be?

Wel looks like the xbox is pulling its sales together a bit better not much compared to the ps2, thankgod i own one.

If these are the UK sales, then of course they're like this. Why?
Because nobody has any stock, duh!!! I'm sure if there was an infinite supply to the retailers, GC would be selling loads, but the fact that very few shops have any makes it hard for peope to buy consoles.
