When PS 2 gets here it will give people what they really want: brilliant games and graphics and no hassle. PC's are just too awkward for the uninitiated. Their only selling point before was their power. The next generation consoles will make this difference tiny. No wonder Bill Gates wants to make a console!

Does anyone else feel like the PC is giong through a dry patch in terms of single player games, all the new FPS have been released multiplayer only, Wing Commander was scrapped for Ultima Online. Am I the only one who is missing a good single player game right now, I've spent the last 4 weeks on my n64 (perfect dark), my poor old PC just isn't getting a look in :(

Does anybody own a copy of braveheart and does it work. I've got it but whatever you do the cursor doesn't appear in the game. Anyone know what the problem is.

Sorry, but as much as I support sega the ps2 is more powerful than the dreamcast and will eventually get better graphics when they figure out how to sort the problems. Of course that's not to say the Dreamcast won't KICK PS2's ASS ANYWAY!

The time has come when the cutting edge is no longer to be found on the pc, as much as I hate to say it. Anyone seen the latest news? X Box game running on p1000 is barely a fraction of what it will be on X box. Graphics equalling or bettering those of the X box are not to be on the pc for some time - They are certainly beyond the scope of the p4 2000. Quite frankly you're looking at £2500 of pc and 2yrs more development. Of course you could always pay £250 for an X Box. Specialised hardware is the way forward. Peter Molyneux thinks likewise - He's abandoning pcs for the X-Box. There has always been this tortoise and hare race between consoles and pcs, but it is finaly over. I shall use my pc to make models, skins cars etc for my X-Box games. I imagine you will do likewise, unless of course you have a machine that can push 100m polygons a second. Even if you do persevere with pcs you will soon find a shortage of games to play. Who wants to fiddle around making games for a temperamental machine with a million different setups when you could make them for a one design and vastly superior machine, that is likely to sell millions of copies due to the sheer number of consoles?

I've been playing games for a long time now, and I have to say that sequels tend to get me very suspicous. It seems that more often than not, a group of unknowns come accross a killer idea and and create a truly unique game. But, then, after everyone tells them how great they are, they think they can get away with just writing the same thing for a computer with twice the recommended specs.

Now I know this isn't always the case, but I think it happens enough to warrant attention.

A good example would be Westwood. Their magnificent Dune 2 brought action and strategy together for the first time, and they duly made millions, but have the sequels really got any better? I know that a lot of people were disappointed with C&C Tiberian Sun, and I thought it was the worst case of programmers standing still I had seen in years. It seems that the bigger the name, the more programmers are afraid to change it.

The key to me is in the reviews. After completing C&C TS I went back to the review I had read from a very reputable source. While it gave the game a high mark, there was nothing in the review which actually explained why it had scored so highly. It seems that reviewers, like the rest of us, are susceptable to hype.

So with one of the most anticipated sequels, Grand Prix 3, arriving shortly, I hope it really does improve on the original, and that better graphics and 'Actual Rain!' are worth our hard earned cash.

Has anyone else felt let down by sequels?

Oh, and I hear the next FIFA game will have INDIVIDUALLY MOVING EYEBROWS on player's faces. Can't wait...

well i'm advising anyone who spends lot's of ££££££'s on games in the high st to think about buying them online because its a lot cheaper and keeps more £££££££'s in your pockets!!!. i buy my games on the internet!! and i am not thinking of stoping soon! so if i were you i'd switch now! if your parents buy the games for you then tell then about games on the web and im sure they would certainly think about it ! if there scared about ther'ye credit card details then theres no need to be scared because most sites are secure!! so dont worry and buy buy buy!!

well i know that pc game prices are'nt all that dear but!!!!!!....... well they are cheaper than most playstaion games and, if you buy them on they internet well they come really cheap!! but in my opinion they are still dear and should be brought down just a little in prices. plus i dont really think that the quality of games on the pc is poorer than any console game (but dont get me wrong not every game is poor in quality on the pc , some games are better on the pc than on the console's). i myself would rather play games on the pc instead of any console but every one's different!!. so maybe you dont agree with me but.. thats my point of view so i guess thats it!!.
