When PS 2 gets here it will give people what they really want: brilliant games and graphics and no hassle. PC's are just too awkward for the uninitiated. Their only selling point before was their power. The next generation consoles will make this difference tiny. No wonder Bill Gates wants to make a console!

With the 1ghz processor now out what are the intel and athlon gonna do when the processor speed gets too hot for the computer to handle? What i am trying to say is that as the processor speeds increase, so does the heat generated. Soon, by the time we get to v.large processor speeds the computer will either start to smoke or will need to double in in size to hold enough cooling fans to keep the processor cool enough.
Will intel or athlon invent a new super 'cool' processor that produces less heat or are we going to have to cope with oversized computers again?

Most patches need you to download them and them double click on them (to install them and 'patch' the needed files) - they are usually executible files so will tell you what to do when you have double clicked on them.

I'm still new to gaming and I'd like to know if anybody could tell me how to use patches, do you download them to the same file as the game or where? All the magazines and sites assume we know everything already.

I think selling your games by auction is great for getting cheap games but I'm getting really annoyed by the amount of times I've received a game and not been able to play it because it uses MS DOS; I wish people would specify this before you spend your money. The sites should make it compulsory that sellers give you the requirements you need to play the games, the same goes for any gaming sites or publications selling games.

I don't think your average gamer has the bodily co-ordination to do this... :)

Wolfenstein. I remember that - twas very good. On reflection, though, the sound effects were a bit crap.

(Door opens)
(Enemy alerted to your presence)
(Enemy firing his crappy pistol at you)
(You firing your chain-gun)

Aaah, those were the days. :) I think I still have it on floppy disk somewhere (imagine that, a whole game on a floppy disk!). Maybe I'll play it again soon...
