When PS 2 gets here it will give people what they really want: brilliant games and graphics and no hassle. PC's are just too awkward for the uninitiated. Their only selling point before was their power. The next generation consoles will make this difference tiny. No wonder Bill Gates wants to make a console!

Cough, cough, ahem... May I remind you of the specification of the X-Box? It's just a PIII-600 with a PowerVR 2-derived graphics chipset. Now, I don't know about you, but my common sense tells me that a PC with a 1Ghz CPU and a GeForce 2 graphics card will far out-do the X-Box. And this is available right now...

Anyway, beyond a certain level of speed, more speed on top doesn't make any difference. I think we've just about reached that point.

On the contrary, due to the similarities in architecture between the X-Box and PC, I suspect that nearly all the games released on the X-Box will also feature on PC. And vica-versa...

of course gaming will always be better on pc's, the console has only just got the net, but the p has had it for years now.
The gaming capabilities on the pc are endless it just means that the less powerful ones loose out.
The internet has had the best gaming for pc's because evryones wants a pc to play games not a console, the dream cast is just rubbish because of the spee of the modem which is so slow i can't believe they can play online on them.

Mac are you thick or somehting?

The reason why we all like pc's is the fact that you can expand them instead of the s****y consoles which make you buy one after the other because they only just keep up with a pc of 4 years before!

And by thwe time the X-box is out the pc will have a 1.5 gz processor!

don't you just hate it when a new game comes out and you save up your money to buy it, then you go down to the game shop and get the game only to find out your computer can't handle the game. i think all soft ware companies should make games with different options. weather to use a 3d card or to have the game in 2d who backs me up in my opinion.

Over the past few years I’ve looked on enviously as owners of an up to date PC could play the latest games with their fancy graphics and enormous disk space which puts my humble N64 to shame. My old computer, bought in late 1995, is only a 75Mhz Pentium with a meagre 850Mb disk space was simply not powerful enough to run any games produced past mid ’98. Now I have a great new computer with a 667Mhz processor and 15Gb disk space. The thing is, it comes free with a few games made in 1998 which, although fun, aren’t brilliant. I wonder if any Special Reserve members could recommend some good games for my new computer. Because I don’t have any PC games mags I have no idea which games are good and which games aren’t.

P.S Am I the only person who thinks that Special Reserve should have their own chatroom?

Here are some cheats that i have just found for rollercoaster tycoon
Rename any guest:
Chris Sawyer Will take pictures of park
Simon Foster Will paint pictures of park
Melanie Warn Increase Guest's Happiness
Katie Brayshaw Waving guest
John Wardley Says "Wow!" when sees a good coaster
John Mace Rides for free
Damon Hill (or) Drives fast go-karts
Michael Schumacher
Tony Day He will eat lots of hamburgers
Hints
Increase Your Park Rating :
Unfortunately, you need to drown the unhappy guests. To do this; click on a unsatisfied guest and use the pincers to place them in the water. (Shame on you people! How do sleep at night!?)
Hire Einstein
To extend your research by leaps and bounds, find Guest #1 and rename him “E=MC2”. Then find guest #2 and rename him “E=MC3”. The two will meet and begin brainstorming. Shortly thereafter they will ask to be hired on as the park’s research developers. Say “yes” and pour your resources into the think tank. The following year, research and development will have grown by leaps and bounds. You will have all of the latest rides and nearly a billion dollars to spend!
Receive A One Million Dollar Gift
To get lots of money for your park, close it down for one full year! Afterwards, a man dressed in a blue suit and holding a clipboard will give you a little “helpful money” ($1,000,000).
Retain Ride Popularity
To retain a scary ride’s popularity, simply delete a segment of track and replace it with the same thing. The guests will be fooled into thinking that the amusement has been improved and will continue flocking to it!
Kill Everything
First, find guest 2374, rename him as "Timothy Mcveigh". Next, make him walk by an entertainer, drown him, find a slide, and watch for a big bomb to go down the slide. Then, all your rides will be deleted, all people gone, all land flattened, and you'll receive ten million dollars.
Increase Park Rating
Though it is questionable ethically, it makes business sense... Maintain high park ratings by drowning all unhappy guests! (Click on a mad guest and use the pincer icon to place him in the water.)
Maximizing Productivity of Shops and Stalls
Location is the key to maximizing profits! Here are a few business tips:
Don’t squeeze stores together. They will compete for customers and their prices will fall. Put shops and stalls near the rear of the park, NOT at the entrance. Once tired and hungry guests have walked all the way to the back, they will be more than willing to pay higher prices for snacks.
Remove Weeds without Mowing
To remove weeds without mowing the landscape, click on a construction button (like the leveling land button). Then click on a weed it will disappear!
Utopia at Mega Park
To unlock Mega Park, a scenario with a sprawling plot of land and no objectives, you must complete all other scenarios.
All Facilities
To stuff your park with all the enmities, push [Shift] + Z.
All Rides
To put all of the rides in your amusement park, push [Alt] + Z.
All Shops
To put all of the shops in your amusement park, push [Ctrl] + Z.
If you are planning on demolishing a ride that's getting to old and nobody wants to ride it even for free, then instead of just pushing the trash can to throw it away, click on the construction button then click on the bulldozer on the pop up screen.

You don't get all the money back, but you do get some. Works especially well with rollercoasters, bulldozing one track piece at a time because you actually get all your money back.

Beat 'em ups are sold for consoles and not PCs because of the controls and multiplayer aspects i presume. I mean, it's all fine and well having a controller which has a button for each attack and a movement pad/stick but many people don't have a controller for their PC and there aren't that many good ones anyway! Also Beat 'em ups can easily be played multiplayer (perhaps the main aspect of them) at home with friends on a console, could you imagine four people huddled round one PC, two on Keyboard, one with controller and one with mouse?? That's why there aren't any Beat 'em ups for PC. "Killing the PC as a games machine"? what does this mean? Have you forgotten games like Quake3, Diablo2, Shogun and so forth? There are thousands of great games for the PC that aren't Beat 'em ups! You can get strategy, First person shooters, proper RPGs (Zelda doesn't count) and all sorts of games in all shapes and sizes for the PC. The PC doesn't need input from Sega or those who make console games, it has great developers exclusive to PC! If Beat 'em ups are all you like to play then get a Playstation, if not then the PC is the best for all single player games and the only choice for On-line games (Dreamcast isn't as good for on-line gaming).

Why doesn’t any modern day PC, which I’m informed is capable of polygon levels beyond any console have one 3d area beat em ‘up? The last game to be released I think on the PC was Virtua fighter before the good ol’ day of 3d acceleration and the O-So-Brilliant Voodoo 3,4,5..etc. Can’t anyone see that the PC is missing such necessities as Tekken 2,3,Tag, Soul Calibur or any other. Why doesn’t Sega bring something to the PC. Is it bad sales last year? Is it they are too violent (hahahaha) or is it just that Sega can’t be bothered!? On the other hand, guess what Sega do bring us as a rival to Dead or Alive 2........Ecco the Dolphin! Wahey! Anyone who would buy Ecco over DOA2 must be crazy! Even Microsoft or Eidos could link up with Capcom or Sqauresoft and made something good. The sega people are too obsessed with the Dreamcast and PS2 they have abandoned the humble PC and this is killing the PC as a games machine!
